Are sagers easier to service and repair by yourself than other brands? thinking about getting one of the 970m 960m ones and I was wondering if they tended to be easier to open up than rivals such as Asus, Alienware, MSI etc.

Well, generally, yes. I only buy Clevo laptops because the ones I buy are so easy to upgrade and replace any and every component in them.

Sager/Clevo (Sager is the brand, Clevo is the manufacturer) notebooks are about the easiest for the end user to work on. You can find the service manuals online if you know where to look.

Typically yes, the components are often easier to get to and don't require a full deconstruct of the laptop to add in things typically. On most of the 960m/970m the GPU/CPU are soldered to the motherboard so can't do much with those at home, but things like upgrading ram/HDD/SSD space is probably easiest with a clevo/sager.

@saturnotaku, where would you suggest I look for service manuals? I googled Clevo P750DM-G service manual and came up empty. One site did have a link to the P750 ZM manual, but I'm looking for the DM. Another forum mentioned finding the manual on Tech Inferno, but a search of their site came up dry as well.

I searched the places I've found them, and none seem to have your specific model. That's strange because it's not so brand new to where it shouldn't be available. Sorry I can't help you there. -
Hmm okay thanks, @saturnotaku. Do you think the ZM version is close enough, except for being LGA1150 vs LGA1151?

You'd be a better judge of that than I. Download the ZM service manual and compare the layout of the ports and other components to yours. -
Same chassis, yes.

It's incumbent upon the design, but the majority of Clevo systems are more friendly in this area compared to other brands.
Same chassis, like BlackSabs said. If I recall correctly, the DM chassis marks both of the keyboard screws required for removing the keyboard, whereas the ZM chassis only makes one apparent when looking at the back/bottom. Other than that, they're identical.
