Hello, I am soon going to be ordering a sager 5792, However i have not heard too many good things about the keyboards that sager uses. Therefore I was wondering if it would be possible to transplant an NMB keyboard from a thinkpad into the sager? Also I was wondering where the best place to buy a sager is currently, I had a lead on a place last night that i could get one decked out with a 8800GTX and the lot for about $2100, with a standard 3 year warranty, but I lost the link. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

You cannot transplant an IBM keyboard on a Sager NP5792. The only reason you read about a few people that don't like the keyboard is that those who do rarely comment on it...don't be put off by that...the keyboards are fine for most people.

As for finding a reseller, go to the Clevo Guide which is the first Sticky thread in this section where you will find them, their locations (including website links), and their customer service records listed.

For price questions you should email them directly. They may not be able to answer questions like that on the forums. They are under strict rules unfortunatley.

Edit. Hey Donald, Didn't see that you were on. =P Powernotebooks is one that is reccomended by many on these forums because of service like this!

Sure, we will match any Sager advertised price.

We also offer Lifetime 24/7 DOMESTIC Tech Support, which only a few other resellers offer.

Sager keyboards are some of the better ones out there. They are solid and have nice tactile feedback. The plastic used for the keys is noticeably thicker than what is used on mainstream HP and Dell keyboards. I think you'll like the keyboard.

    Chaz,

Agree with you there. I have to hit the keys a little harder on the NP5792. No complaints.

I think the best sollution is the one that I use, a USB keyboard / mouse. They fit perfectly in my 17` laptop carry bag, together with the sager and I pretty much never use the laptop keyboard except on special ocassions...
