I am about 98% ready to purchase my laptop. trying to decide between the sager np9170 and the 9150. Is the 17 inch battery life much worse than the 15? Going pretty bare on features, but are there any features the 17 can have that the 15 cant that i might have overlooked?

Im tempted by the only 50 buck increase in price to get the 17 but if its a sizeable difference in battery life i'd probably stick with 15

The new models are currently out, but Ivy Bridge equipped versions won't be shipping for another week.

The 17" P170EM comes with an aluminum finish and a second hard drive bay that the P150EM lacks. It's also got a larger power supply. The battery life is not significantly worse, though it will be a bit shorter just because of the screen and extra bay (if you use it).

Other than the extra HDD bay, they can both support the same hardware configurations.

Yep, both the np9170 and 9150 are both out, with some people on this forum just getting them this week.

How often are you going to be moving around with it? 17" is a bit less portable, 6.83 lbs vs 8.6 lbs in weight. As for features, I really don't know if there's any major difference.

When will the 7970M be available on Clevo machines???
Is it going to be cheaper than the 675M (rebadged 580M)??

and I wonder if it will work with my current fan/ heatsink (P150hm 6990M).

I might be wrong, but some posted that it shouldn't cost more. I believe they will only get the CPUs (Ivy bridge) on April 29th, which will not give that much time before May 15th.. hopefully you get lucky

I had both 15" and 17" laptops before and I would never go back to 15". You will love the extra monitor :)

It's really just a matter of preference. Both sizes have pros and cons. When you're playing your favorite game you're going to wish you bought a 17" laptop but when you're lugging it around you're going to wish you got the 15" one.

But i guarantee you both will put a smile on your face. :)
