    is it really almost 1.9" as the sager web site says it is?? wow that is huge for a 15" notebook...just curious thanks

    My D900K is ~2.0 inches closed lid.... front to back. :)

    not sure i believe so. my wife has the 15" ocz whitebook and i measured it and it matches the specs on their web site exactly. the ocz 17" is actually a bit skinnier than even the 570tu is according to the pics ive seen with them side by side

    It's got a nice thick behind. That's for sure. Almost as big as my Toshibas.

    Yup, eaactly 1.9 inches/49mm - the 570TU for reference sits 54mm above a desk. Quite a lot of that is the feet as already mentioned which is just a thermal "feature" to keep the air flow good!

    The feet are somewhere around 3/8" (and included in that 2" quote) -- the net result being that the notebook doesn't look nearly as thick as it is (to me, at least).

    It looks really deceiving the way the feet raises up the laptop. If you measure the bottom part of the rubber to the rest of the feet it is almost 1/2 inch thick alone. But really, how thick it is doesn't really bother me. What boggles me is how thin it is packing such power under the hood has no problem with temperature what so ever.
