    or are they already pretty much being deemed discontinued? i still see them both listed.. and it appears the 5792 can come with either 8700gt or 8800gt so why have both models now? just curious.. and i still think it stinks about all the mobo upgrades they keep pulling on everyone that owns this and the 900...

    I am sure they are just trying to get rid of stock at this point. Once the parts are gone they'll probably remove its listing.

    Since nvidia has stopped production of the 7590gtx there isn't much point for having the 5791 because the 5792 can use the 8700.

    But don't worry, I am sure the 5793 will be released in January when Penryn comes out.

    There should be some kind of standard for gpu/motherboard form factor. So that manufacture dont have to build each laptop custom to only 1-2 gpu choices. Can't they all settle for one MXM socket and build a standard upon that? If need more power, instead of rerouting it through a motherboard upgrade, build a port for external power, make it a standard feature. Because seriously this will never end with every gpu release, you need to buy a new laptop.

    theyre making money by selling new laptop... its like buying a gaming console or a TV... you cant upgrade it... so you ahve to buy a new one!
