    so if i send out my now what i would consider out of date (ridiculous i think) 5791 will i be able to use the new penryn's? will is now support sata 2.. and if i want to go to the extreme version (5793) will they allow that as well?? i was about to have mine sent out fot the upgrade THANK GOD i didnt.. this is officially ridiculous with another mobo revision in under 3-4 months..

    Technology's always moving, I think what you're experiencing is a form of Buyer's Remorse. :(

    Consider it lucky that there even is an upgrade plan in place, vendors like Dell or HP would simply make a new laptop around the new technology and tempt people to buy whole new computers.

    Last I looked, the NP5791 was definitely no slouch. You could always get a desktop if you want to be on the tip of the spear of technology; at least the parts are very interchangeable and upgradeable. :)
