How do you know the card is working if you have no display? Is an external display working? Do you hear the machine POST? If it's not getting at least that far, I'd try blind flashing a new VBios, but I have no other answers otherwise.

Just breath chris... what we're trying to find out is you're saying the card works, but you have no display... typically, not having a display might be a signal the card isn't working. Have you tried reinstalling the previous graphics card to make sure that your display is causing the problem?

Yeah i know for a fact the card works because i bought it brand new now i have been researching this card because its not the average 8800m gts its a hdx 8800m gts which means i will most likely have to flash the bios anyways. The display is fine because the last card i had in there displayed which leads me to believe its bios. im also currently running on no operating system right now so its not drivers this has been a project laptop of mine. The card still should start up and display but it does not but i know its working because its triggering the temperature sensors to turn on the fans properly unlike my last card and it goes through post fine.

What they are saying above is right fella and buying it brand new means absolutely 0 because it could easily be a DOA or have picked up a problem during installation. You need to trial and error to find out the problem.

Have you tried it on an external display?
Have you gone back in and checked all connections? that the heatsink is sitting correctly?

Blind flashing is mainly for a bad flash and as this is a new GPU would not recommend it until you have tried out all minor possibilites. Best to contact the seller first and find out his advice, if it is from people that know what they are doing and not a back of the lorry job they should be able to give you the Vbios.

i tested it in on external monitor and nothing sadly. i got a feeling i know why and thats because of the card having HDX in it which makes it proprietary to specific mother boards like HP. Unless someone has a bios flash or has some sort of idea what to do. Everything is staying cool and all of the heat sinks are on properly. I have basically eliminated all of the obvious possibility's.

As I posted in your other thread in the HDX section, it's a no go. The HDX video cards are proprietary even though they look somewhat like a standard MXM III/HE card. Refer to your other thread for more.

Let folks know in the HDX Dragon Owner's lounge. Someone might be looking for one. There have been a few posters whose GPUs died.

How much are you looking to get for it?
