today i spilled a drink on my keyboard and promptly cleaned it up. when i came back later on to my computer though, my space bar hits weren't registering so i pried open the space bar and cleaned everything underneath. now that i replaced the space key, it can register keystrokes, but it feels a lot heavier. i need to apply a lot more pressure

anyone know what i can do to fix this?

Proably there is still some liquid left on the springs.

This is another reason you'd want compressed air. Gets that liquid out quickly and with ease.

maybe the spring isnt seated properly or has fallen over sideways
this happened on a laptop keyboard I repaired once.
also the scissor like plastic thing make sure its secured properly both sides

I`d second the idea with the spring. I had the space issue also, but not due to liquid, but because I wanted to reseat it, it was sort of hanging :D

2nd option fix it with a big sledge hammer and ring the insurance company :)

alternatively find out how much a new keyb is.

A new Kb is like 40-50$.
But I`d doubt that you need it. Just use a canned air to eliminate any possible liquid traces.

cheers shyster, it increased my fps to over 1000 in crysis as the glass from my screen flew across the room :)

I am going to be looking into replacement keyboards in the uk (I think I might need to set up an online business) anyway, because I am already wearing away the texture on my spacebar, but thats because my typing style has the side of my thumb hitting the right side of the spaceb every time and my nail catches a little and scrapes, it ahppens to nearly every keyboard I have had

except a Cherry one, and beleive it or not a Compaq one,
oh and the saitek blue lightup one,but thats because the texture was smooth anyway :)

Sager can supply them, but you can try XoticPc.com or Powernotebooks.com and ask them in the LiveChat .

Two options immediately come to mind:
    (1) open up the computer and get the part number from the label affixed to the keyboard, then do a google on that part number to find someone who sells it; or

    (2) call your reseller and see about buying a new one directly from them.
