It's not possible because the Realtek's ALC662 chipset used one the M860TU doesn't support multiple streaming playback. :(

There are laptops in Clevo's line that support that?

Yes, the D90xC and M57xRU... they have ALC88x chipsets, wich have 10 DACs(digital to analog converters), 8 for the 7.1 processing and 2(stereo only) more for multiple streaming playback.

Does that include the M570RU-U as well? How do you configure it?

You can work around it if you buy a USB headset for ventrilo. When USB headphones get plugged in another soundcard is added to windows which can have it's volume controlled separately. (and ventrilo can be configured to use that sound card)

However, I'm guessing in most cases the sound quality would be less then onboard sound.

I find that on the m860tu the other noise cancellation works well. Noone can tell that I am listening to music or there is A/C in the background as I am using things like Skype. If the concern was that people were hearing the music in the background.

How to Set Up Multi-Streaming Playback

Example: MSN or Skype talk with friends while CD is still in play in PC.

Before set up, please make sure the playback devices are well plugged in the jacks.

    1. Enable playback multi-streaming (Mixer > Tool > Check “Enable playback multi-streaming”;)
    2. Check the item “Update Playback Device Automatically” (Mixer > Tool > Check “Update Playback Device Automatically”;)
    3. At Mixer page, choose " Realtek HD Audio Rear Output"
    4. Launch Media player to play CD. At this moment, CD will be played back from back-panel.
    5. Go back to "Mixer" page, to choose "Realtek HD Audio Front Output".
    6. Turn on Skype or MSN audio to do "audio" chat with friends. At this moment, you will be able to hear your friends' talk from front panel output (say, via headphone), while music (back-panel) is still in play.
    7. At the end, you should hear 2 different sound playback simultaneously without interference.
    ;)

My own set up would be MP3s on a (substandard) generic Sony system (connected to the green jack), and I'd want voice playing out on the laptop's speakers. I'll fiddle with the settings and see if I can pull it off.
