Hey guys, I have a gtx 680m in my p150em laptop and recently it's been acting up on me. I normally overclock my chip to 850mhz/2300 mem clock and its been pretty solid until recently. Also, I recently upgraded drivers if it means anything. Now every time I play a game with over 90% gpu usage it throttles down to 212 randomly and I don't know why. It comes out as choppiness in game and is really annoying. Here is a picture of what I mean, excuse my fail in paint: problem.jpg

For me, this could mean a bad card, but I really don't want to RMA this thing as i'm in school in Rhode Island and Sager is way back in California. Please could someone help a brother out? :)

The temps are fine. Max in demanding games are 83-84c. and no, when i downclock it to stock it doesnt throttle.

Is it possible that this could be a power issue?

I tinkered with the overclock a bit, and found that increasing the core clock to 850mhz and +0 for the mem clock stops the throttling, and setting the core clock to stock and increasing the mem clock to +500 also stops the throttling. However, increasing both (even with +135 core and only +10 mem) causes the throttle.

I also found that the max OC I can reach without throttle is 810mhz core 2300 mem....however others have gotten their 680m's up to 1000 mhz without throttling so whats up?

Bumping....also games don't artifact, it only throttles. Would a bad power brick/source do this? Sorry for the bump, but you're m last hope lol...

I got the same issue. I guess the stock voltage for our cards is too low to handle the higher clocks, causing instability. That's why I hope svl7 will update his Clevo vbios soon with a slightly overvolted version.
