As title guys, would you recommend me selling the 2 x 980m`s and getting a single 980gtx?

Also, if I want to upgrade my screen from the 1080p to the 4k screen do I need different connectors or just the 4k screen?

How has your experience been with sli? Those two cards are a lot more powerful than 1 980, but if you've been having stuttering you may want to. If you have GSync I wouldn't though as for me its made sli great.

My guess is it would depend on the Clevo/Sager model.

Using that info, find a forum for that model, or contact your reseller to see if the QFHD LCD will work with your model. Also, if you're G-Sync now, that could be a problem unless you find a new BIOS/vBIOS which supports the G-Sync, QFHD LCD you plan on installing and also if that LCD is G-Sync capable itself.

That's a strange problem with the clockspeed, I hope you figure it out. Not sure what causes that besides high temps.

When I was laptop shopping this time around, one of my options had two GPU's in SLI, and most people advised me against it because "many games have issues with SLI and so you end up paying for that performance but only using one GPU". I'm curious if you've found this to be true? I had a feeling it might be an antiquated issue but wasn't sure

If you have one or the other then it's not worth swapping, the issues with SLI are modern, new rendering techniques relying on the previous frame hurt adoption.

Compatibility is getting better, but there's some truth to that statement. It would be worth looking into the titles you intend on playing now, or in the near future, to see how those games are looking with SLI enabled - although a single 980M or a 980 will be able to play just about every modern title at high to ultra settings.

It's a more uncertaint time than it has been for quite a while with DX12 and VR coming up potentially causing changes to how it has been.
