Hello. I just applied the latest bios from Sager today to my machine.
Edit: Model Sager 8660/M86TU Geforce 9800GTS

    866bv216s.

Since that time, the machine continuously reboots itself. I decided to do a fresh install of Windows 7. Well, it got as far as extracting all the setup files then rebooted itself. I repeated this two more times.

I then found 866bv217s on the web, applied it successfully, and have the same result.

Booting into Safe Mode *did* work before I reinstalled the O/S.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is something enabled in the BIOS which is incompatible with Windows 7 and the new Bios.

NOTE: passes Windows 7 memory tests.

I guess I can roll back to an older version I got off the Clevo site but that just sucks.

    Thanks for help.

Where you on Windows XP before you switched to Windows 7?

What HDD Mode are you on in your Bios? XP or Vista Mode?

No. I was running fine in Windows 7 on an older Bios.

I tried reinstalling Windows 7 in both ACHI and IDE modes. I also tried a different hard drive just to be sure.

Oh I see, not what I thought the problem might be then. Other than checking for any new default bios settings that didn't exist before, I have no idea then.

Did you update the kbc/ec firmware at the same time as the bios?

If not then that could be the problem.
