Reading back on an old topic regarding custom logos for bioses and decided to 'have a go' ...
however, am a bit of a Luddite and fell at the first hurdle and have lost whatever confidence I had in my abilities, and was wondering if your offer to make custom bios for Clevo machines still stands....

I have reproduced the Rock screen that I used to have when booting up on the original Rock bios until I updated to the latest bios and wondered if you could insert my image into the M570u (synaptics version) 1.01.06 bios?




Hope that you can help and that other Rock anoraks find the image pleasing too!

ps, eventually got the image uploaded and visible.....

 

can you upload that bios somewhere for me. and also possibly the last version with the rock logo already in it there are specific size and layer requirements that need to be maintained when you import them in. then i may be able to just pull it from the old one and put it back into the newest one. i need to make sure they didnt use insyde to lock this bios though first. but sure ill have a go at it...

I was not able to save the original Rock Bios when I updated as I used a cd and didn't have a clue how to save it, it is a steep learning curve for an old chap like me but slowly getting there!

okay but without the original ill need a much better and more clear pic of the rock logo. otherwise the one you posted will be very blurry when its enlarged as its blurry already. just a real simply black backround with the white rock logo maybe from the web site or somewhere... i got the bios ill look at it tonight to make sure its not a locked one

I've had another go at the rock screen; the main problem is that there is only some very small logo graphics on the website and i did try to find the appropriate font to build the screen from scratch.....no joy there so I hope this version is clear enough.

Did you have any luck with the bios file?

well with the pic i can try this now for you i was waiting for this picture with the right font. ill for sure have a go tonight with it. i dont see why it would not work

edit: i did it quick this morning for you. lmk if that works. the logo pic was locked i had to remove the lock first to be able to add a new pic but try this one. flash same as normal with same command.

no it should not cause any issues. all i did was unlock the boot image and then replace it i didnt relock it so it can be changed. lmk if it works or not. if not i know what i need to do to make it work but i didnt want to do that if it didnt need to be done.

 

if it works for him i can change the boot screen to anything you want within the image limits

had a bit of a busy few days what with the clutch going in my car and planning our wedding, but did the bios update yesterday, all went smoothly thanks to the bootable usb guides (thanks due for those ) however, when I rebooted I still had the Intel logo as the image....... maybe you sent me back the original bios!

Could you check please? I had the phlash16 green screen come up and it appeared the writing process was in order but no Rock logo.....

what logo was there? the style note? or just the intel?

 

i just checked and the rock logo is there in the one i sent you. ill have to look again to see why it doesnt show up ill send you another one to try.. gimmie a bit

 

Just a note, if you go on the rock brochure on their website, it has their logo in what appears to be vectors so you can have it any size you want just by zooming in and print screen

 

im uploading tonight for you. i triple checked when i re-open the bios it has the rock logo as the boot logo

again apologies for not having reponded to you, it was the Intel small logo I am getting, not the Rock, I will have a look at the catalogue at the logo on that; my hunt for a logo was a Google image search initially and only found tiny little logos, almost icons!

Will check back later and see if you have uploaded the new bios

i have the new one im just not at my office where it is, i did triple check and the rock logo is 100% in the new one. i do not have the machine to flash it to but if you open it with pbe the rock logo is for sure there

By the way Henry Butt, thanks for the details on the rock website, I did have a look but the only logo I found was a small one on the page and it was fuzzy when enlarged; could you post the one you were talking about as an image file here?
