when I'm away from my house, the trackpad is kind of pissing me off due to its low sensitivity. I'm used to running about at about 1800dpi on my mouse which means going across the screen with a flick of the wrist. However, on the trackpad, it takes 3 and a half horizontal glide (sorry if thats sort of unclear) to go horizontally from one side to the next. Anyway to fix this?

You could increase the sensitivity, through Synaptics Touchpad settings (provided you installed the driver) but keep in mind the trade off is a sacrifice of fine control.
