Hi, i own a np8130 for 10 months already, however, the GPU fan is making some weird noise when turning .. i m not sure how to describe the noise but it's kind of annoying and seems like it's not running smoothly ... what should i do to solve the problem please ?

found a video on youtube ... the noise is similar but not as loud as the one in the video.... :(

This happened with my desktop. It turned out to be worn-out bearings in the fan. As soon as I put my hand on the fan, the rumbling-like sound stopped.

I installed a new fan and problem was solved. :)

I'm guessing your gpu fan needs to be repaired/replaced.

It might just be loose. The fan should work fine at that age.

Have you lubricated the bearings yet as suggested? You can get a replacement if you need. It's not that old.

You won't even be able to get to the fan bearings, they're sealed shut.

Apparently we have the same problem. Mine started a month after I got the laptop, but seeing how it was at the end of the semester and I couldn't afford to RMA the laptop in the middle of exams/papers, I ended up trying to fix it myself.

I reduced the noise but never truly got rid of it. It's coming from the CPU fan.

I am afraid of sending it back too cause it could temporarily get fixed during shipment, and the technician will note that there are no problems, then send it back unaltered.

Try rotating the laptop from side to side at 45 degrees max to see if that changes the noise level. I don't think the problem is coming from the fan but something else in the laptop that's making the fan unbalanced.

Both fans are sort of attached with magnets (for p151hm1) ... so for somehow i can get to the bearing but i don't see any serious wearing ... i ve got a laptop cooler , which may causes the fan unbalance as it tilts my laptop a little bit...

i was thinking to send back the fans too, in order to get a replacement... but shipping may be expensive as i live in the UK... still around a month to decide until the warranty expires... or i may try adding a little bit of lubricant and hope for the best....

No, MALIBAL didn't want me to just send the fan back but the actual whole laptop. I don't think it's the fan itself though but something else that's off.

There's usually a seal under the sticker for PC fans that you can open and apply a drop of bearing oil. I wouldn't apply the oil from the other side as that's not how the system works.

I was thinking that maybe the wrong voltage is being supplied to the fan thus the magnetic field is a little off of what it should be. I tried a bunch of different things and nothing really made sense :(.
