I know that it's possible to upgrade to the Penryn processors but is it possible to upgrade from dual core to quad core? Upgrade meaning buying it yourself and switching it with the old one.
it's for the NP5792 if that matters

You can upgrade to a Quad core no problem

The 579x series took dual core cpu's (the T7xxx series), which is a Socket P CPU type. The only quad core cpu's are socket LGA775 sized.

FOR sure the M570RU can only use duo core CPUs.
The only Clevo that uses quad cpus is the D901C (sager 926x)
