well i have run into my first problem with my np 8662. Everytime i play an online game and I am on Ventrilo, after about 5 mins i get disconnected from ventrilo and am unable to rejoin, until i close the game. This has happened with cod4 and Left4Dead. I have never had this problem with my other laptop ( m571ru in sig)on the same router.

I am thinking it might be my wireless card in my laptop. I have tried different drivers for: video, sound, wireless lan, and uninstalled back to SP1, still no luck.

This is really at a loss for me, and this could be a deal breaker for me keeping this new laptop, as my other laptop, it works perfect with same OS and same network with no issues.

    Any ideas here guys?

So after being in ventrilo and playing for more than 5 minutes, you get disconnected from ventrilo but not from the game? That is kind of weird. Hmm... I use Ventrilo on mine without a problem, but I'm directly connected to the router with a cable. I wouldn't say its a hardware problem, but if you want to be sure, try putting the Wireless lan card from your M571RU into your new laptop, and see if it works.

I dont think the problem is the notebook hardware, must be the os youre using.

Im going to try that tonight, i will see if that works. I wonder will this laptop wireless slot be compatible with my m571ru?

Vista has never given me problems in the past...

It definitely is a wireless issue with this card. I hooked it up with a cable, directly to the modem, and it worked just fine.

I woulndn't be so sure its a hardware problem yet. The wireless card on your M571RU should work in your M860TU. If it works perfectly, then you can be sure it's a hardware problem. If it doesn't, it can be a network problem, at which point I would commit suicide because I HATE, hate network problems. But that's just me.
