can you guys feel the vibration from top right corner when you pressed Fn+3 mild fan speed? it is weird because it cause more vibration than full blast/auto mode.

    What firmware do you have?
    Get the .h version.
I`ve already been through the vibrating firmware, and I specifically asked Justin to get sager onto it,and they have.
The last version of the firmware, the one from here :
    http://64.208.175.44/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=5792
, last thing on the page should fix it.
Download the ISO, burn to disk using Nero burn image to disk tool or another similar software, and reboot, follow instructions, listen to beep, reboot, all set.

Okay eleron you've thankfully reminded me of another thing. As I mentioned in my review, me and my friend together purchased 2 Sager 5793s...... and today we were using them side by side, and I noticed how mine on full blast was significantly louder than his.... our machines were shipped together so I take it they're possibly having the same firmware.... But I'd still like to verify and see what firmware we both have.... so where can I check the firmware version... (I forgot :p) And if we both have the same and mine is still louder, that'd be worrying  Else, if mine is older, I'll see to updating it :D

I actually have no idea how firmware updating will improve the noise level since it's hardware related. unless it lower the rpm.

Well, I don`t remember the program with which you could check that, maybe try Everest or SiSoft Sandra since those give pretty detailed specs of the computer..
But you can do something else : flash both computers to the latest firmware and then check.
One thing to be pointed out : even identical systems have different behaviours, and some may come out louder than others.
A system that is dust free and runs cool will probably be louder because the air is not obstructed at all.
A minor difference between noise is probably normal, but you must be aware of the saying : " my neighbours` goat is prettier than mine just because it`s not mine" :)
    So I wouldn`t worry,if it doesn`t bother you.

Okay... I'll flash both to the latest firmware :) And I think you may have a point on the dust... I've used my notebook for almost a month... he just opened his.... and maybe that's why his is quieter than mine on full blast.... maybe I need to clean the fans...

Same here. In addition, my keyboard makes a rattling noise with Fn+3 mode on, but not with auto or full blast.

Is that all the time then? the vibration I mean, or only when inserting a disk inside the cd/dvd drive?
If it`s only when Fn+3 mode,I'm pretty sure it`s not the .h version.
Btw, how do you know which one you have? it`s just better to flash to the latest one and make sure :)

I did flash it to the latest version. The vibration is constant and pretty noticeable when the Fn+3 mode is on. It's caused by the smaller fan I guess, and it makes the keyboard vibrate and sporadically emit rattling sound.

Then I suggest calling your supplier. It`s probably a faulty fan that doesn`t like med speed and that can deteriorate in time.

Something's definitely odd. When the full mode is on, the smaller fan also spins faster than it does with the Fn+3 mode, but there's no vibration for the former. As soon as I hit Fn+3, the fan slows down and makes a whining sound, accompanied by vibration. Does anyone else have this issue? The vibration is most apparent near the top right corner of the frame, near the asterisk key.

I was going through the fan firmware thread, and I came across this post by lndnny:

That was the exact issue I was having, so I downloaded the version .f, flashed it, and the vibration is no more. But it's a bit louder than before, though.

How cool, that particular fan speed matches the key's natural resonance and causes them to vibrate... just how Hitler was trying to find the natural resonance of Jewish people so he could eradicate them with sound... what a retard.

technically the newest is version 1.00.08s which is the SAME as 1.00.08 except its branded for sager. otherwise no differences at all i can find i have compared both in the bios editor and they are the same minus branding.

1.00.07sh is simply a update to add the keyboard functions for fan control it can however be used as a full bios with a bit more work from my findings

wow thanks for the detailed explanation zfactor. I am greatly appreciate it! So I am pretty sure that my 5793 has at least 1.00.07sh since I can control the fan mode. do you think 1.00.08 can resolve my vibration problem?

I will switch to the radioactive one after I do a full system reinstall...
Nirvana, I dunno what to say. What you are experiencing is what we all experienced in the previous firmware, the one that I have, and posted a video of, is close to perfect.
But I never use Fn+3 any more except when in libraries, because on auto mode the ramping is gone.
Come to think of it. Do you have ramping up and down , Nirvana? cause the ONLY firmware that has NO ramping is the latest one.

See? best way to check if you have the latest one is if you don`t have ramping. If you have it, it`s definitely NOT the latest, and probably the resonating one.

Yes. And fan speed ramping that also translates into temp ramping in the riva tuner chart.
    Check mine.
    -First one: NO RAMPING.
-Second one: RAMPING with older firmware version.

I don't know if it's abnormal for 8800M idle temp, but mine fluctuates (but not within a short period of time) between 50 - 60 Celsius, depending on the room temperature.

In Vista, with the initial firmware I dropped from 48C to 39C.
