I have Battlefield 2142 and Vista 64 and I can't even get it to run. The demo version works great but it keeps telling me to insert the installation disc when I try to play the full version. I had it working fine with Vista 32.

I have bf2142 not BF2, but I know that when I installed the expansion I had to patch to 1.25 before I installed the expansion, and then had to reinstall it again after I installed the expansion, before I could get it to work.

Not sure if this helps any for you since it's a different game and all, but if you are having troubles and play an expansion with it I'd try to do the patch both before and after you install it. Might be worth a try, in any case.
