So I changed my driver for my 8700GT to the 163.16 driver that someone recommended on this forum. It defiantly produced a huge gain in FPS over the stock so about this I am very, very happy. However, vista-64bit now tells me my nvidia 8700GT is called an nvidia 6100. Now, I don't suppose this is actually affecting my computers performance in any way, because I am getting muuuch better results with this new driver, however its really just annoying that my computer tells my my video card is something that it isn't. Is there any way to fix this without having to change my driver to one that doesn't work as well? thanks for any help.

yeah i believe so, i just followed the vista steps and it said it would uninstall the old driver to install the new one. So do I need to reinstall the old driver and install the new one without uninstalling the old one?
