Hi. I don't really know much about laptops and just wanted to get some advice (I'm a desktop man).

I'm getting a new laptop for my grandmother and vaguely remember people saying clevo laptops are good. Anyhow, My grandmother would use her laptop for web browsing, playing bridge and streaming catch up TV. The most important factors are that it is reliable in the long term. She won't replace it till it is dead on ts feet. The budget is about £500. Portability is also relatively important but not as much as reliability.

I came across this w540eu config for £530, any good? Should I be looking at some other chassis?

If she intends on saving much data, I would opt for either a bigger SSD, or downgrade to perhaps a Seagate SSHD for the sake of capacity. Otherwise, I think that would be perfect for her needs. :)

Windows 8.1 may revive some missed features, but no guarantee just yet, so see how she feels about Windows 8 first.
