My w860cu battery inflated on me so I'm in need of a new one. My reseller (rjtech) has it listed for $160 which sounds a bit steep for a battery. I checked with the usual suspects (ebay, aliexpress), but there are none available. A search through completed listings shows that they have sold in the $80 range which sounds fair to me. Googling the product # gives me ridiculous prices ($200+!) at websites that look less trustworthy than a used car salesman.

Anybody know a reliable place to get one for sub-$100? I've checked a few other resellers and the lowest I've seen is $130 from pro-star. I don't mind if it's a generic brand, as long as it works :). Thanks.

Have you tried searching here? people sometimes sell broken notebooks in the NBR marketplace, maybe you can buy one of those and take the battery and other spares?

Under $100 sounds less legitimate to me than the antithesis. Less capable batteries for less capable systems generally go for around the $100~ price point, so I wouldn't doubt that the NP8690 battery would cost somewhere in the ballpark of $150-$180.

Check with your reseller, or with any number of resellers for that matter.

It can always be dangerous going with a sub par battery, you play a lottery of potential issues every time.

$160 for a brand new guaranteed pack is not unreasonable.
