i just got a w860cu heatisnk for the 5870m, my laptop is a w870cu however upon going through the schematics etc they should be exactly the same, but i just tried and i can't fit the 5870n w860cu heatsink in the w870cu(theres a part of casing that prevents it), it seems the tip of the heatisnk block is kind of sliced on my 280m, i'm not getting this though the diagrams shows it should work, any input?

They're not the same. Try to exchange if you can.

    They are differents

The heatsink for W870CU is 6-31-W870N-201

    That for W860CU is 6-31-W860N-023

For the W860CU-D3, there are two:
    6-79-W860CU0L-001 for the GTX 285M
    6-79-W860CU0L-003 for the GTS 360M
