I'm going to be moving overseas for awhile and I've come to the conclusion, that buying a new laptop is my best route to take.

I have my choices narrowed down to the 2090 and the 5790. I've been leaning toward the 5790, because I wont be carrying the laptop around much but I will be working on it everyday. (I'm a webmaster and part time gamer) So I like the idea of the bigger monitor and the better graphics card.

Ok so here is the demlima.. ship times seem to be an issue with these laptops, being they are both new releases. I'm planing to leave by the middle of next month (Aug 15ish). I keep seeing that the 2090 has a long wait for a ship time, which is another reason I'm leaning toward the 5790. I'm just wondering what kind of wait I'm going to have if I ordered either of these laptops in the next week?

Will my limited timeframe put the 2090 out of the picture if I decide to go that route? If so does the 5790 expected to have the same shipment issues?

I just ordered my sager n2090 last sunday and I thought I'd be getting mine in 2-4 weeks according to xoticpc.com but a few guys here it'd be shipping mid-august so I'm a little discouraged and lost at the same time. This is off-topic so i'm sorry but it does give you a little idea of what we are going through.

There is less demand for the 5790 meaning you will have a better chance of receiving that than the 2090. Ask the reps at Xotic or Powernotebooks(if that's where you are purchasing from) about their ETA.

Yea that's what initially turned me off the 2090, was the wait time. I do like it's price and what you get for your money. Seems like the best deal out there on a good performing notebook.

That's good to hear, but did you buy a complete system or their barebones version?

The WUXGA version will start shipping within the next day or so, and we have plenty in stock.

If you want one of the WSXGA+ versions, they are in very short supply but will begin shipping within about another week.
