so i have a "remote controller service (MCE)" thing at the bottom right corner, anyone know what it does? it crashes randomly and force my system to shut down. I am not posting this in the software section because i never seen this program on other computers. would be nice if someone can tell me its name under msconfig.

That is strange, I have never seen what you are talking about. 2 questions:
Has it been there since day 1?
Did it start after recently installing a new app?

It`s for the TV Tuner, but since you don`t have it , you won`t have much use for it.
In vista , when I went into that program, the controller was fully functional,I could power on or off the system , etc :)

You can remove it since you don't have a TV Tuner.

lol I cant beleive this I removed this last Thursday thinking, why on earth did I install it in the first place
now my system keeps finding a hardware device, and guess whats nw missing?......

Thats right guys, its for the infra red device.

but while it wasnt crashing my machine it was making my wireless fail to connect properly on first attempt.
    BOOO!

so I am going to disable it since I havent used infra red in years, and am all bluetoothed up :)

    p.s. strange I can't disable it :(

Unless you have the driver, you won`t.
It should be something with CIR .

    ITE EC CIR Driver (PMC)

    its in system devices
I couldnt disable it so I reinstalled the latest driver clevo have
it still stops my wireless from connecting properly 1st time.....BOOOO! (this is random though, seems to happen more when on power, which must be something to do with the speed and order it loads drivers)
