www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk is selling it too. They've branded it as the comanche SLI.

yes, ordered a full spec via finance

only to wait agonisingly for the past month as eta slips further back week by week and excuse by excuse.

i don't mind when there is genuine reasons, but when you are told something different every time you call or email, i don't know what to believe.

it was novatech or kobalt for me - but at the time novatech offered finance so.....

yeah looking at Kobalt if you make the 2 systems the same (using Novatech base system) then Kobalt costs over £500 more. Novatech is £1953.85 while Kobalt is £2535.05 both including VAT - i know where im getting from :)

what specs did ya go with?
im going to have to wait til my laptop is sold before i can get one :(
its going to cost about £2,500 including VAT but thats with SLI and everything so thats good for UK :)

You are talking about novatech and kobalt and now i am curious are they both owned by the same company? The banner that advertises the M980NU is almost the same...

A portuguese reseller says it will ship 10/06 lol :x 1 month late :D

Are you talking rebranders shipping the unit to the customers or Clevo shipping units to the rebranders?

If you're talking about the M980NU shipping to customers on the 15th, can you please provide a link?

Also, just to be clear, you are suggesting the 15th of July, right? Would be great if you could provide a link saying that.

I think xotic or rjtech says "Avalable: mid-July". That would mean July 15th, right?

Mid-July should be the 15th as it is the middle of the month and there are 31 days in July.

there are no official production models released yet.
    the delay is with clevo.
different threads say germany has got them and then norway and then a member on here says he has one.
if they or he has they are pre production/demo models and NOT the final for sale model.
as soon as they are released nbr will know because you will have very happy members from around the world posting pictures and eagerly awaited benchmark results.

ill reply to a few posts above later when i get the time.

oi Neil, stop beating me to the post :)

just to try and answer some of your questions

its on the cards for finance from Kobalt. the delay is out of their hands and they are as frustrated as everyone else about it.

i also done a comparison and im not sure how you got over £500 difference.
taking into account that there was no option on Novatech for bluetooth or 3 year extended warranty (this may be included,i dont know) there was little in it using the P8600 £2397.39 or £2310.35
    including: 4gb ram/2x 280 graphics/3x 500gb HD/bluray/vista home

no they are not the same company.
the picture has been used by a few OEM's and as far as i can see by the copright its owned by Nvidia or digital illusions.

all resellers were advertising a mid june release date as this was the original date for release but was delayed by clevo.

we all have our fingers crossed but as Rob41 asked is that clevo or resellers.
if and that is a BIG IF, it is released on that day by clevo then dont forget they have to be shipped to the reseller and then they have to add the customers order spec and then test them before releasing them so imo it will be a later date (this is a guess and only my oppinion).

    and finally
you can say that again Rob :D

at least i got the first prototype pictures still on my camera. :p

i copied all the options that was with the Novatech system on to the Kobalt system - i didnt check the warrenty - but it cant cost £500. i will check again though but im sure thats what it was

right this is the system i used:

    Intel P9700
    4GB DDR3 PC3-850 10666MHz 2 x 2GB SO DIMM
    3x 500GB 7200 2.5" SATA Hard Disk Drives In RAID 5
    Blu Ray Optical Drive
    2x Nvidia GTX280 1GB DDR3 Graphics In SLi Mode
    Vista Prem

    Novatech : £2415.00 inc vat
Kobalt : £2961.70 inc VAT. Ex Delivery

it doesnt give options for thing like Bluetooth and Kobalt comes with 1 year euro warrenty - dont know Novatechs

small problem is the P9700 isnt in the dropdown list of available processors on the kobalt forum. that is why i used the P8600 for the comparison.
wonder if this is why the price difference.

they are updating the website this weekend as far as i know.

i think the price has been updated and Novatech is still cheaper i think - it also comes with 3 x 500gb 7,200 drives and 2.8Ghz dual core so i think thats where i will get mine from, i think all i have do is upgrade to SLI graphics cards

Who you talking about? coz i aint trying to "flame" anyone - i was just staing the price difference so that people know

    its abit cheaper, around £200
but due to the config that i want i think it would be cheaper even after you have dropped the prices to go with Novatech - they come default with 3 x 500gb 7,200 hard drives so that costs about £250, then upgrading the CPU which is about £275 to 2.8Ghz dual core which is the same speed as the novatech system, adding the blu ray is another £150 and that is just to get it up to what the Novatech system

    Hi

We haven't changed the pricing yet, it's still the same as it was yesterday. There seems to be an issue with some of the CPU pricing which means the systems are a good couple of hundred £ more expensive than they should be - it's not because we are reducing pricing to be inline with other companies, there is a genuine issue with the webite pricing which I hold my hands up to. I had a good look at it today and should have everything sorted by tomorrow afternoon/evening.

It's just this system that is wrong, all the other models are extremely competative :)

cant wait for the new price to appear on the site - interested to see how it compares to the Novatech site
