I installed the 180.84 and dont seem to have SLi capability now. So what are the best/latest SLi drivers for 9262 with 9800 GT SLi?

There is no option for SLi with the 180.84 in the Nvidia control panel. At least not that I can see. There is a "Set PhysX Configuration" option available with it but not SLi.

So again what are the latest SLi capable drivers for 9262 with 9800 GT's? Or am I blind and do not see Enable SLi with the 180.84??

The 180.84 is a SLI capable driver, so there must be something wrong with your installation :/ The same thing has happened to me once, that the sli option din't come up in the control panel. Not with 180.84 though..

make sure both of your cards are installed under device manager. and that both have the same driver. so click on each one to visually verify it.

Same thing happened to me in xp sp3 ... the sli opton wasn't there with any driver from 180.xx above (dox's drivers)...

So now I put in vista 64 sp1.... Tried them out again and the sli option was there... Anyway I didn't like the driver's .. in crysis to many artifacts... So I'm staying with the sager driver found in the web site. I think it was 176.02...

There is definitely something wrong with the installation , I have XP SP3 and SLI with Dox 180.84.

Also, those artefacts you mention are because of insufficient video memory for high quality textures.
SLI does not add video ram,it runs in parallel...
So you only have 512MB of video ram, and some textures, on very high, require more than that...

I only got those artifacts with those drivers...... don't know about frames per sec.. But the settings 1900 1200 and high..... game ran pretty smooth but at some points weird stuff appeared on the screen... In the begining when you first meet up with the guy in the forest..

as far as installation i did everything right.. used driver sweeper in safe mode to remove the left over stuff from old drivers.. the drivers from dox has a install setup how hard could it be.. all i got was physx option no sli...

and another thing.. I got like 15200 n change in xp sp3 in 3dmark06 and now in vista 64 sp1 i get 14300 n change..
saw an article about xp sp3 and vista sp1 about gaming and i thought the gap between the two was closed.... I guess not...

the gap is close or untill i run my next set of bench mark tests.
    me:
    xpsp3=16,054
    vista sp1=15,887

and your right, had a few problems with some of dox's drivers but not all. what would happen is...it would only install one of your vga cards and you would have to reboot then install the other one to get sli working. at least that's what i had to do with the 9800m gtx cards.

did you try the new drivers from nvidia. the ones for gta4? they have sli enabled. and they install fine.

    In vista 64 sp1 14300 n change ... i think 176.02 from sager site

    In xp sp3 it was 15200 n change... 175.97

I forgot what drivers I had that gave me 15300 n change.. I think they where the 178.13 from dox ... But i took them out becuase Timeshift wouldn't start with those drivers

No gpu overclock .....just the q6600 running at 3.0 instead of 2.4

use driver 176.25 for 64 bit and 176.09 for xp and vista 32 bit.
make sure to enable sli and reboot.
set it to performance mode under nvidia control panel
install ntune system tools 6.03 from nvidia
drop your over clocks to 640/940/1500 and start from there.
let me know what you come back with.

    LOL sorry man .....

    I never overclocked my gpu...

Do you know what the normall numbers should be for the 8800m gtx?

And if I drop the slider bar to performence is that only for the benchmark or do I leave it set like that for the game also...... and I leave it like that for the games would they look crappy

benchmarking is just that. and it has several layers to it.
with 3dmark. it's the fastest score that wins respect. not how nice it looked going through it's 10 minute test. :)
and since you haven't over clocked your cards using the bios flashing method, then just use the slider for now. it will still net you a nice over clock at no cost to you bricking your system.

I was talking about leaving it at performence when I start a game like timeshift or crysis.. prince of persia....Etc...

Should I leave the slide bar at performence or move it back to quality when I play my games

these are the settings that change how your games run...you would have to spend a great deal of time changing settings and watching what they do to your games. usually it set to application controlled. this will allow your game settings to control most of how the graphics will render.

so to answer your question...set it back to application controlled after running benchmarks.

Tell me if I'm right...... I just wanna make sure i'm uninstalling right.

add and remove programs to uninstall nvidia drivers
then safe mode ,,,, run driver sweeper select only nvidia ... restart and install new drivers....... Do i use the installer or use the have disk method to install new drivers..

Which program should i use driver sweeper or driver cleaner pro.

ummmmm....i rarely ever use that method. only if i cant reset my gpu application settings.

just go in and install using have disk method.
or uninstall current driver and reinstall new driver.

    or

    update driver

or your method you mentioned is correct. it's just lengthy and i uninstall and reinstall way to many drivers to be doing that every single time..lol

I'm going to do it the long way. lol

But as far as the install i should do have disk instead of using the installer that comes with the driver right.

or do you recommend using the installer that comes with the driver.....

sorry man .... That last post got me alittle confused

that's a big 10/4 positive. it did. what it does is slows the cpu down which in turns slows you down. and any minor slowdowns drop the framerate. you have to seriously be watching to notice the difference.

my scores average about 14,850 to 15,000 per stock runs no over clock of shaders or anything for that matter...
and for over clocking...they are averaging 15,600 up to 15,900

and before you start over clocking with the nvidia software you need to set your voltage to 1.05. as for your sm 3.0 score you need to change a few things. your 3.0 score should be higher than your 2.0 score.

also, the new nvidia drivers are indeed nice, but the stock drivers are still better at 3dmark06....
