if you are referring to the ASUS W2J notebook...
Asus, frankly is taking a bold step to bring this model of notebook, because the boutique brand notebooks (Alienware, Sager, VooDooPC) have the the market cornered for high end (custom) notebooks.
The main difference of the Asus W2J to the Clevo M570U (Sager 5760) is that the 5760 has a big purpose to game, giving that the video card is at default a 256mb 7900 Go GTX, while the Asus W2J has a ATI X1600 card in it, which isnt the worst card, but a far cry from being a high end card.
The W2J and the 5760 both have similar specs, including tv-tuners, cpu support... however the price for both models are pretty much the same.
So the Sager 5760 (rebadged Clevo M570U) is the better buy since it has the much more powerful video card.
Note: True that the Asus W2J is going to have HD-DVD, but the price for that is just not worth it considering that the Sager (Clevo) notebooks will soon have upgradable HD-DVD (and hopefully Blu-Ray)-rom drives to be available.
Game on people,

P.S. As far as I know, all Clevo notebooks are manufactured in Taiwan, and then shipped to to OEMs (Sager, Alienware, VooDooPC) to get rebadged. I got my notebook directly from Clevo in Taiwan with the postage stamps to prove it. -

The Asus has the edge in build quality. I do not exactly consider the W2J and the M570U to be directly comparable. Both have different purposes and are aimed at slightly different audiences.
The M570U is obviously the best choice for gaming. It also makes for an excellent multimedia machine with a widescreen display and optional integrated tuner. If you are a hardcore gamer, the M570U is the way to go. -

Take a look at Kilim's review of the NP5760:

thansk but i read the thread before.
doesnt mention anything about the build and materials -
Hmm, I could have sworn I wrote soemthing about the build in my review
Well, the top of the LCD Screen is made of some sort of Metallic sheet.
Not sure exactly what type of metal it is as I didn't have my mettalurgy kit with me when I was doing my review.
The rest of teh body feels like and looks liek some type of hard plastic.
It is studrdy enough for my daily movement of it from my apartment to work and back.
Of course I am not sure what exact material it is as I am not knowledgeable enough for that at this time.
I am sure Chaz can elaborate more on anything I have missed or written wrong for you because the 5760 has the exact same body chassis as the 5720. -

Here is another review of the 5760 sold by Rockdirect.com and named the XtremeCTX

Is there still a problem with the hinges? Or was that a different model?

The majority of the unit is plastic - the top is a metal sheet of sorts, makes the lid quite stiff.
The plastic holds it together well, never feels cheap. Below the LCD is especially solid.
what materials are used in the build of the NP 5760 and where ?
