Penryn CPU's are still being beta tested in the Clevo D901C.

It should be anytime now... when there will be official word on the support of the new Penryn's... as well as which CPU's that will be supported.

some Clevo vendors have programmed and tested their own beta BIOS's... which may not be fully stable yet.

Sager (and some other OEMs) will never give any rumors or speculation.. only official Clevo announcements.

Another thing is that the new Penryn CPUs are very rare to come by as well.

You just have to be patient.

Sager is still doing some final tests. Once they give the green go, XoticPC will have them available also.

Hell, the q9450 isn't even listed on newegg anymore probably due to lack of supply.

I know this is off topic, but I had to answer this one since I have traveled a bit.

Yes, Europe and nearly every other country out there is "ahead" of us. Commercialism (is that a word?) holds us back. People only buy what the companies choose to sell them, in other words, slaves of consumerism. There are very few people (like us edgumacated ones in the forums) who dig through the trenches looking for the best performance/dollar non-brandname item. Cell phones are the biggest example of this crime in our country.

OK, back to topic, at least the E8400 is available for the 9262! Check this thread here>>>> E8400 versus E6850

Yeah, I was having one of my "I hate I-P*d" moments. Went to Starb*cks and had a latte, refueled my SUV (which I had to take since I was driving by myself). Feel much better now :D.

Just kidding about the SUV, I would never stoop so low to own one of those. ;) At least until I get married......again.....

The problem of Europeans when IT is concerned is that we are basically brand oriented snobs.

Basically becouse we don't have our own brands consumer brands, and the few brands we have/had were targeted to the very high end business market delivering very little value for the price (more snobism).

So in the end of the day we keep our snob style (classic classy) by buying from abroad (is so coool, gives us a sense cultural empowerment), while not understanding that a foreign brand is just a national brand of some other country made by someone that was not very long ago a John Doe.

I get those, too, although these days, mine usually revolve around "I hate $_ny, or M$" moments. :D

As to SUVs - I quite agree.
