    You have the V0, you want the V4 or the replacement for that the V7.

    They are both 95% matte, the V4 got phased out and replaced by the V7.

    Actually the AUO B156HW01 line is as follows:

    B156HW01 V0 -> 60% Gamut Glossy
    B156HW01 V1 -> 60% Gamut Matte
    B156HW01 V4 -> 95% Gamut Matte
    B156HW01 V7 -> 95% Gamut Glossy

    There is no replacement to the V4 or V7. The V0 and V1 have been replaced or have a replacement of the B156HW02 V0 / V1 and will eventually be replaced with the B156HW03 V0 / V1 the differences being slightly newer and thinner displays which use less power. However the HW01 V4 / V7 are still active screens being produced.

    We get an AUO roadmap update every two weeks =) We know whats going on in the AUO screen world lol.

    To be honest, some of the higher spec LG displays are fine for gaming too, for gaming it's high brightness, contrast and viewing angles you want.

    great info in this thread, outside of the numbering differences anyone have a reputable place to pick up either of the two 95% gamut screens? most i see say "compatible" with instead of exact, what exactly needs to be specified to make sure i'm getting the right one?

    found these on ebay, any suggestions?

    says exact AUO
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-AU-OPTR...Laptop_Screens_LCD_Panels&hash=item4609f70a1f

    says v.4 but glossy? also says exact AUO
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-A-15-6-...Laptop_Screens_LCD_Panels&hash=item1c262249ec

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/B156HW01-V4...Laptop_Screens_LCD_Panels&hash=item231706ad76

    says could be either (matte or glossy):

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUO-B156HW0...Laptop_Screens_LCD_Panels&hash=item19d6651de1

    It needs to be an exact panel listing. Likely none on ebay.

    But then what happens after gaming? Let's say that person wants to view nice vivid pictures, watch multiple movies etc..

    A lot of people here say good LCD is not important for gaming. Isn't it ironic for desktop, most high end systems use panels that are far superior to any panel available on gaming laptops? Yeah, I guess gamers who are anal about getting the best performance from hardware, and wanting the best settings for visuals, wouldn't care about image being correct color. :/ that doesn't seem right to me.

    95% with an ICC profile is fine for both gaming and anything else you want to do that displays colors. Matte or glossy is just preference. Glossy tends to have better contrast/brightness, but for me, that doesn't matter when I see my face reflected back rather than the image I'm trying to look at.

    Games are very likely not to be entering the limits of the colour space of your panel, it's more an issue of contrast (to see in darker places), brightness so it's easy to see, display lag and viewing angles.

    There are brighter and better contrast displays than the high colour gamut ones.
