    Err, all EU countries have sales tax, and the rate isn't much different. Anything imported would also be taxed.
    You could order from the US, but you would still have VAT to pay, and the increased shipping, and if you ever had to RMA, it would be much more expensive.

    me personally would recommend mySN mySN UK | XMG | by Schenker Notebooks

    as anything electrical we are ripped off in the uk :(

    also if you could tell us your budget then we can recommend which to go for.

    just for example the one in my sig below was £2006

    Only in my case (with both my P150HM and W370ET) I get the netto price without VAT. Pretty cool stuff. Compared to the OEM brands, I get better and cheaper machines.
    Better and cheaper.

    Here is how.
    My country is in the EU. Im buying a laptop from MySN, which is in Germany, which is also in the EU.
    I purchase my laptops as a firm (ive got my own firm) and send the reseller my details for my invoice.
    The reseller then checks the data in the EU register.
    I dont owe VAT to the country from which I purchase the laptop (in this case - Germany).
    I also dont owe VAT to my country if Im not going to re-sell the laptop from my firm.
    And so I ask the reseller for a netto-price, without VAT.
    They are perfectly fine with that.
    And I save these 19% from the end price.
    What ends up happening is this: I get an INSANE laptop for less money than an OEM garbage, like Lenovo Y580 (yes, it overheats, its garbage, it costs more and its hard to clean, almost a nightmare to remove the fan and heatsink, etc.)

    Ive no idea what the laws in the UK are, you'd better check that out!

    P.S. YEEEE I just saw my rep squares are up to 4 now!!! Thanks for the rep guys!!! Really appreciate it!

    Ask MySN! They will tell you! You can also PM them here on these forums, they have a representative here! (search for MySN)

    @volcane
    the warranty is crap though. just hope it doesnt need a repair after the first year as you will have to pay courier and parts.

    @juusts
    VAT is 20% on top of the price in the uk.
    if you ordered from lets say america then it is a much cheaper price but when it comes through customs you have to pay the 20% VAT and if it ever needed repair then you would have to cover the costs for courier and insurance back to america for service so once thats all added up it doesnt work out much difference.

    Thank you for your email.

    I can confirm that the 20% VAT which our website charges is applicable to sales to Lithuania. Once you have paid this VAT you won't have to pay any other charges to import to Lithuania.

    If you have any furter questions please feel free to ask and I will be happy to help.

    Best Regards

    would help if you told us what size lappy you want and what you want to do with it, general use, heavy gaming,hd video editing etc as this can make a hell of a difference in price. you can still get a very good fast lappy for £1100

    take a look at the A** series laptops on the left of the page mySN UK | XMG | by Schenker Notebooks

    EVERYTHING in the UK is subject to vat, imports included. Only if you have paid tax in a country in the EU already is it then covered.

    Also I am sure you meant to say that your machine was primarily for business use b0b, because by getting your business to pay for it and donating it to yourself for primarily personal use is not really a "gift" as I understand it and would mean it's subject to earnings tax which depends on where you live and how much you earn. It may also mean it would then be subject to vat as well.......

    So just be a little bit careful about what you say there.

    Overclocking is best done by yourself with care to be honest. January is going to start coming closer to haswell (next gen i7) but you can always wait around for new tech and never buy anything.
