    XP 32-bit will give you the best performance overall.... especially with Service Pack 3 (coming out in a month or so).

    Or with XP SP2 with multi-core hotfix.

    I installed it an hour ago, and got 5-10 fps increased in BF2142.

    BF games seems to get the most of hotfix due to its pre-multithreaded programming.
