I'm still looking for a replacement screen, I found one but am not sure if it would be compatible? it says it's for m570a.

You could try it. but it more depends on the model of the actual screen.
Does anyone know the original model LCD panel on the m570?
I'm using one from my xps 1730 right now. At first it would only flash RGB, it could be my graphics card, more recently it was showing some sort of test pattern so I think its worked it out.
I dont have cooling pads on my GPU yet so I dont want to fully test it yet. -
annoys me when sellers on ebay don't answer questions...or answer days after the listing ends. What's the point of that grr. Not gonna buy something that has no full description.....

My screen from a dell totally works. Just got into the BIOS and is displaying correctly so it should work for you.
The model is LTN170CT03 -

It's always better to use the inverter that came with the screen, but if that won't work, as long as the specs of the old inverter are equivalent, it should function.
A word of caution though, I used an old inverter with a new screen once and although the specs were appropriate I could tell that it wasn't 100% compatible as it caused a very slightly hum, which is a bad sign. After 18 months of heavy use it burned out and destroyed the new screen. -

-They generally don't have the same connectors.
-The backlight on the LCD is the only thing that gets destroyed. These can be replaced somewhat easily and your LCD will be fully functional.
-The voltage that goes to the inverter is 12v-14v at 2a. But this is 2 wires on a 6-12pin connector going to the motherboard, these connections between manufacturers can be entirely different.
basically fluorescent bulbs are simple technology that are a dime a dozen, relative to the cryptic nature of motherboards. Especially when it comes to running them with different voltage than the specification -

still haven't been able to find the parts i seek, I thought I did with this ebay seller of pc & laptop parts but he never got back to me about his spare m570.
Is there no where that sells reasonably priced screens & other parts that would fit a m570? -
-
I think if I don't hear from this bloke I'll just sell the laptop and stick to my desktop. -
They're a Canadian company, I don't know how that affects the customs fees.

or this
Notebook Displays und Ersatzteile verschiedene Größen und Auflösungen auf Lager sofort lieferbar - NotebookDisplayShop Reparatur & Ersatzteil Service sofort lieferbar
I'd rather you didn't sell your laptop because of thisI'll sell you a screen and try to avoid customs if you want.
-
I have a spare 570u chasis and screen (and processor)
I'm looking for a replacement graphics card for one tho. -
They are Rock CTX's btw with the 1900x1200 screens
-
Assuming the parts would actually fit my laptop are you willing to sell the spare stuff? -

What happened to your lid assembly again?... just a big dent?
If you get an entirely new one, can I buy that weird right hinge brace from your old one? -
although the screen being already faulty, it has made it a little worse, darkish area on right side.
anyway if he agrees to sell, i don't see why not. -
I've already waited 3 months to get it fixed, I hope I can get it sorted soon! I finally got another email from the bloke on ebay but he still hasn't tested his spare laptop...
-
As stated in the other thread, niffcreature is under the wrong impression that you have an M570 RU, so the 8700M won't work and the other parts you have are not compatible with his system unfortunately.
-
I'm lost now, donno who wants or has what....argh why is it so hard to find laptop parts? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
-
-
That is correct, the M570U was considerably different to the M570RU (look at the service manuals in my sig). I think the screen should work though.

Yes.
As in, the ones that wont work are non standard, stuff made for lenovo or apple mostly.
Of course this excludes LED backlit models, they will not work.
The backlight and data connector are exactly the same as those found even on standard 15.4" screens. -
i'm still looking for a replacement screen 17" WUXGA LP171WU1 TL B2 or whatever is compatible, asked several screen sellers on ebay and they either don't know if their screens will work or don't reply....sob...just want to find a screeeeeeeeeeenW£$%£%^
-
Ah, the LP171WU1, I'm familiar with that screen. It's the stock 1920x1200 screen on the Dell Inspiron 1720.
The LP171WU1, WU2, & WU3 are all drop in replacements for a busted LP171WU1. Same video cable connector, same 2-pin inverter. You don't have to worry about the numbers/letters after the WU1/WU2/WU3, they just indicate the batch and week they were made.
The LP171WU4 & LP171WU5 ARE NOT compatible with a system that has a LP171WU1. The WU4 & WU5 are LED based screens.
Hopefully some of this is helpful to you. -
grr Thanks man.
-
edit, nope will buy new screen. refuse to let it dieeee.
would a M570A screen work on a M570RU?
