    If the head fits i think it should work, personally i bought a belkin adapter that converted the cigarette socket power into the UK 3 pin socket but i'm sure you can get one in the US with a US plug.

    you would be better off getting a power inverter (like this one or this one) and using the stock power brick.

    Wouldn't these kind of power drains on a car battery run it dry in a couple of hours? I remember leaving a electric cooled lunch box on for 8 hours in my truck and it was dead the next morning :D. I would think even charging a laptop would drain even faster? I might look into one of these inverters though if they are safe to use.

    remember to have the vehicle on while charging to not let it drain the DC power. ;)
