EDIT: I think reflexnotebook and AET Solutions are the same company, as they have the same address, I would say they are legit. I remember someone here in the Clevo forums had bought from them before, and said they price matched as well. Always be sure to buy expensive items like a laptop with a credit card though. Just to be on the safe side. -

They should still be legit, I know in that area there are a lot of computer shops, it's basically an industrial park and there are large buildings with many different shops in them. They may not be related and all in fact they may be competing with each other.

Also keep in mind you can build a notebook yourself with the barebones from R & J Tech and parts from eBay etc... might save a couple hundred or more bucks. Especially without that Canadian tax. -
ReflexNotebook.ca and AET Solutions are the same company. Recently went on the AET Solutions website to see Sager notebooks and you are redirected to ReflexNotebook.ca. Website really improved, price match available and seems to have the best prices for a Sager retailer in Canada. This is a good option to avoid surprise custom/duties/others beautiful UPS fees. Sent them an email and they answer really fast in a professional way and do a follow up. Maybe I will buy from them if my crappy Asus notebook case (3 RMA, 107 days without notebook and counting) ends someday. What about the Sager service ? I am talking about the company service by itself and not the retailer service.

In March of 2008 i bought a Sager 5793 from these guys. Top of the line service, prompt responses and educated answers. I am very pleased with my notebook and even went in for upgrades and a cleaning about 4 months ago, all was done through AET Solutions. I as well agree that their website has improved.
Yes i could have bought it from Sager themselves but i enjoy supporting local businesses as i live in Montreal, AET/Reflex is 10 minutes from where i live. I didn't want complicated RMA horror stories, another reason why i bought locally.
All in all i would buy from them again, and i haveThey pretty much have anything and everything computer related there.

I think if I ever buy a Clevo again I'll give Reflexnotebook/AET a try.
-
I'll keep this company in mind if I ever want to buy another Sager... Their prices seem competitive, especially if you're buying from another province because for QC residents that damn QST is nasty, and will go up 2% in the next 18 months

i bought a NP8690 820QM/ati 5870/1080p/Blue-Ray/intel 6300
from them, they actully give a really good service, they answering fast, they are taking time to help you on anything + on the warranty they are covering the shipping if you need repairs.

Nice, I should PM Gophn if he ever logs in anymore, and tell him to add them to the list of Clevo resellers in the Clevo guide V2.0.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I didn't want to make a new topic about the same exact thing. I was just wondering if (almost a year since this thread) more people have bought from these guys and can tell me how reliable are they?
I'm looking to purchase the Sager NP5160 off reflexnotebook.ca but it'll be my first time making a not-too-cheap notebook purchase this way so I'm a bit undecided about hitting that checkout button.
Thanks! (and if I had to create a new thread I apologize) -
I got my NP8130 from them. Fast and friendly service. No complaints, I even got a call the day Intel announced the SB chipset bug from them reassuring me about returns and whatnot.
-
Hi,
Bought my 8130 from them (ordered just after the SB recall).
Good service, practical shipping option to avoid custom fees, etc... All in all, probably the best option is buying from Canada.
They offered good service during the ordering process, good communication. No issues with the computer yet, so can't comment on the aftersale service. -
Did you guys buy the warranty's?
-
Have been browsing resellers for a 8170-S1 and I think I'd prefer to purchase from a CDN reseller to avoid any complications while receiving, while needing repairs/service, or paying any extra fees. -
I just bought from them, they actually prepared my laptop quite quickly...I ordered on 21st and it just got shipped on 29th. Will get here on May 5th. Although they did say 10-15 days build time, it was earlier than expected =D. They also call you to confirm the order and tell you about all the fees included, etc.

I talked to the guy in charged at reflexnotebook.ca and he was super nice and professional. They are part of AET so nothing to worry about.
The only reason that I didn't buy from them was that I was able to get an upgraded screen with Mythlogic. An option they (as well as most Sager resellers) don't offer. Also Mythlogic build my laptop from the ground up and test it themselves. It doesn't leave their shop if it doesn't pass a really tough 2 day test where temps and everything is checked.
Sager resellers just take your order, place it with Sager and sager sends it to you. They don't test it and rely on Sager for that. I prefer the personal service of a boutique where I can actually talk to the guy that test my machine.
It's a bit more expensive but nothing is free. -

soo....I ordered on april 21st, so this should not affect me right? I won't need to send my laptop in again for a replacement??
-
pretty sure they have a rep on here.. cant remember what the heck his name is.. i'll edit back when i find it
edit: NovaH
i've talked to him several times lol. i should've talked to him -
Mostly because I didn't want to go broke dealing with shipping to Sager if anything happened.
Like others have mentioned her, their Rep I talked to (Mark) was really nice and professional. -

I actually had Mythlogic talk me out of getting an extended parts warranty. Most of the stuff that would break is covered by the manufacturer of the parts (RAM, hard drive, etc). The only risk is the motherboard itself. If that part is going to fail, it's probably going to happen in the first year, and even then, the odds of that don't seem great, at least based on reading about Sager and Clevo products.

I'll bump this thread instead of making another.
I'm looking at 8170 and I checked their website out, seems like they have pretty good opinion so far.
I only see 8170-S1, wonder why there is no standard 8170, will play with the options a bit and compare prices to US retailers. -

Just in case anyone is searching for information about ReflexNotebook, I just want to add that I just purchased an 8170-S1 from them. Communication was excellent, shipment was very quick and the machine has arrived without any issue. I'm thoroughly impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if you're looking at a notebook.
Thanks Mark and Matthew! -
I am glad everyone seems to speak highly of this company. Makes it an easy decision to buy from them instead of getting shipping chargers from the U.S
-
Last week I ordered my NP9150 from Reflexnotebooks. Ordering process was simple and they confirmed the configuration with me before processing the order.
-
-
I ordered from them this morning. Great customer service. And prices are competitive to those in America. Also no shipping costs! so thats always a plus.
Now if only I could get their picture in my sig I would be good for a discount. But it doesn't seem to work. -
-
if you are in canada, they do have free shipping and also the stupid brokerage charged by UPS is paid for, so if you are in canada, kinda makes it cheaper than US sellers
-
I'm from Ontario and I decided to order mine through Malibal instead of ReflexNotebook because, after 3-year warranty and import fees, Malibal ended up being cheaper.
-
i heard Malibal are horribe, espcially when you need warranty and support etc. they ignore you and throw insults at you after they have their money. mark from reflex is really good. also dont forget about exchange rates. Also, reflexnotebook have free shipping and no brokerage fee. i believe malibal doesnt cover brokerage, which is around $100
-
Dont forget about:
-Exchange rates plus whatever your credit card company/bank charges for that.
-You'll have to pay HST on the Malibal system when it clears customs. The Reflexnotebook should only cost GST since it's a Quebec company.
Can't say much more beyond that since I ended up ordering from Eurocom. -
-
if you buy within canada, you still have to pay PST+GST (HST), which in ontario is 13% currently. for reflex the brokerage/shippng is paid for. dont think they offer expedited shipping
-
Always good to get ALL prices before ordering for a general idea of how much it will cost. The price we give you is the FINAL price ... no one will ask you for any more money, not UPS, not the government, not even your neighbor!
