    hi guys.

this wifi problem is totally doing my head in. It is useless atm. I keep getting disconnected within 3 minute intervals. I am about 5 meters away from the router, in the closest room. 2 door-walls in between.

when I check for scanned network, my router is on first place, with 4/5 bars connectivity. Then suddenly it drops me off and i have to reconnect. All other devices I tried, psp, wii, ps3, other friends laptops work without problems.

I hope this is a software issue, since I seriously doubt that this wifi card is that bad. I tried a few fixes from forums but none work. I got new drivers, and switched to performance mode in power management.

this is router model : TP-LINK Wireless Lite N Router WR741N

    any ideas ??

Only thing that comes to mind is you may want to open it up and double check one of the antenna's didn't accidentally become detached from the WIFI Card. It is pretty easy to view once you have the bottom panel removed.

    no deal :(

Is it possible 5 meters is just too far for the card??

The antennas seem in place, nothing out of the ordinary.....

You might want to check your router settings, firewall settings, etc.

I once had a similiar issue with my M570TU- after I did an installation of Win 7 instead of Vista. On my distributors website there was a driver for Win7, and it worked, but disconnected every few minutes.
Solution: I installed a new driver found on intels website.
After that, the connection was fine everytime!

    have installed the drivers.

There is a change for sure, in the signal at least. But I still get weird lockouts and huge lag spikes doing nothing but browsing.

anyone else has the same card, and use it from a similar distance ? 5-7 meters away, same floow, on room in between

    Hey,

Look in your wireless router settings for a setting called like WMM Wireless multimedia management and more specifically WMM Power Save, if power save is on turn it off and if WMM is off turn it on that might help your connection problems if that setting is available.

Did you try going into the device settings and set roaming to low?
