Well, I customized my Windows XP so that it runs with around 17 - 18 processes. When I game, I lower the amount to around 14 processes. Now, 2 GB of memory is fine for Windows XP, but will it be on Vista Ultimate? Notice I bold and underlined "Ultimate" as that is the windows that I got a good deal on. If it isn't, is the extra $120 a good deal to upgrade to 4GB RAM even though I will be using 32 bit Vista due to 64-bit compatibility issues?

Also, I was curious if it was a good idea to get the 7.1 sound card from xotic PC for an extra $119. I will most likely be using headphones.

    Here are the questions again:

    1) Is 2 GB of DDR3 RAM good enough to game on Windows Vista ULTIMATE?

    2) If you disagree with the top, would 4 GB of DDR3 RAM be worth the extra $120, even though it will only use 3.2/4 GB RAM? (I will be using 32 Bit Windows)

    3) Is it worth upgrading tot he 7.1 sound card from creative?

Thank you, and I hope you can answer these questions.

Yes, probably not and maybe, if you're planning on hooking up your laptop to a surround sound system.

I do not plan on hooking up my laptop to a surround sound system, just headphones. Though I read on the creative website that it has some technology in it were you can track your enemies by sound which Is really important in many games.

I am unsure if this is true, maybe it just is some marketing thing to make people buy it. :p

    Any other suggestions?

    1) get 2GB now, i don't think you will be using any memory intensive progames, do you? upgrade to 4gb when the price goes down.
    3) what headphones you have? if you don't have something like Sennheiser's HD 555 then don't waste your $.
