Anyone gotten their NP516x or NP81xx Clevo/Sager laptops custom skinned by xoticpc.com?

I just ordered from them and the sales rep told me I could send it back in to get it custom skinned at a later date. I know what design I want to use and I just had questions about the quality and what they actually do.

It looks like the skin wraps around all the curves of the laptop lid, so at first I thought it was a custom paint job, but they describe it as a skin, and they say it's removeable on their website. How is this accomplished? How easy is it for the skin to be removed? Will it start peeling at the edges due to heat or other wear and tear? And has anyone had experience with having these applied to their laptop for some time and then removing it?

If you have a custom skin from xoticpc, can you please post some high quality pics, including some up close shots so we can see the texture and check out the quality of finish?

    TYIA

    Hey Monarch,

I'd send you a PM to a link showing our skins, but you'll need 5 posts before I can send that PM to you. :) Forum rules don't allow linkbacks to our site.

(Meanwhile I can tell you that you can find the page very easily by typing xotic pc custom skins into google ;))

It is a high-quality glossy vinyl skin, similar to the types of wraps that you would see on promotional vehicles. Very durable. It is applied with a heat-activated adhesive and can be removed at a later date. My service manager had one on his ASUS laptop and managed to remove it with a bit of goo-be-gone and monster screen cleaner. He just used his hands to very carefully remove the skin, very slowly.

Also I believe a guy on our forums has some pictures of his skins. Send me a PM when you're allowed and I'll send along some links :)
