I'm on it right now. My delicious 9750v. THis is is beautiful, starts up fast and has a gorgeous screen.

The small size of everything is neat because I can fit more on the screen but it does take alittle getting used to. I wish the media buttons were a bit easier to acess, like the 5760 as well. ANd one more thing. THere's this little button on the left side of the notebook. I pushed it once to see what it did and it popped out this little card slot thing or something. Now, I can't get the button to stick back in. When I push it back in, the card pops out again. I think it's supposed to stick out, but I wish it wouldn't... None of these are big issues though. This computer is top notch so far. I'm going ot use it for a while longer, then right my first review.

One more thing. It's a new computer, so it shouldn't have done this. I installed AIM and AIM stoped working twice in a row. Like, the program froze, I don't know why. The rest of the programs ran just fine. Probably just a problem with AIM. Meh.

I'm real excited about this thing thus so far. **** it's sexy.... I'll get more detailed later.

    The little plastic card that popped out;
Pull it all the way out.
Then push the little button back in, it should click and sort of "hook" back into place.
Now push the plastic card back in. It should go in and stay.

The plastic card is just a space saver and helps prevent junk from getting in the slot.
If you need to get it out to actually use the slot, you should be able to press the "button" lightly and it will "unhook" and pop out. then you push it in and it will make the card come out.

    lol you're funn dimmu.

Congrats on your 9750. yea yea another owner with my model notebook.

    as for the PCMCIA card:
    -take card out completely
    -push button back in completely
-then you can re-insert the card.

    thats it.

Remember to do the Windows XP Multi Core config to get the most out of your system.

    Enjoy.

    Game on people,

THanks Gophn for linking me to your topic. Also, What might be nice are some other suggested links posted here. THere are lots of threads on this forum that could be very useful as far as setting up and maintiaing your notebooks. Some I am looking at now are making the computer boot faster, optimizing the notebook, setting up cores, ect.

I know it's here somewhere but I'm not finding it. I need to know how to put my cores up to the full 2.2 ghz. Right now they are running at 990 mhz. Can't figure out how to put it up. I know, it's probably real simple.

Also, it might be nothing, but I'm supposed to have dual harddrives, but I only see one drive, C drive. It says there's 186 gigs of the 200 with 172 left after transfering all my files. Is there a way to check and see if my hard drive is actually dual harddrives and at 7200 rpm?

you don't need to put it up actually.

Its dynamic speed would increase when your system needs it... during a game, video encoding, etc.

Its the Power Scheme that defaults for notebooks, which is a good thing to not have a notbook's CPU run at full speed all the time when not needed. It saves power and reduces heat this way too. If you change the Power Scheme to "Home/Office Desk", you should see the clock speed increase to its native.

If you want to check out your system's temps (CPU and HDDs), get:
    Notebook Hardware Control (freeware)

    Hope that helps,

    -Gophn

I'd leave the power management as it is, and let the CPU downclock so it will use less power and produce less heat as Gophn said.

    Congratultions on the notebook.

    I see. That sounds reasonable.

Well, just for informations sake, how would you change the power scheme anyway?

Yes I know. I'm the most notebook ignorant person here. :(

You know that power thing question you have to keep the CPU at max throttle?
I didn't know about it either until I Emailed Matt from DiscountLaptops about it and told me what the guys here just told ya ... a month AFTER I have my 5760 ...

Yeah I wouldn't mess too much with the system unless I knew for sure what I was doing (which I generally don't :O). It's plenty fast running stock.

And about your HDD, if I remember correctly you got a RAID 0 setup right? Well then your 2 HDs should read as one larger size (i.e. 2x100GB~200GB). They are designed to work together as one larger/faster drive.
