Yeah I know its 8GB per GPU. So in total VRAM my system has 16GB. I'm aware it is not pooled though.

With stock bios, nope XTU is not good.
Rather use TS.Sebastiao Liparizi Neto likes this. -
I don't play wow and that wasn't what I was referring too, but all good though.

I could dramatically lower the temp simply by using delid guard.
Look at my temp after 3dmark.
p750dm-g with [email protected] OCed with -75mv.
980m@stock
Look at the CPU max temp and clock. Clock is stable and temp is super low.
firestrike 63C
sky diver 66C
cloud gate 62C
ice storm 50C
3dmark is not a hardcore-cpu stress program but still these temps are real low
This is my environment.
No hardcore airconditioner or cooling system. I am just using "coolfeet" which costs me about $2.
I had to cut things so it could be attached to the mobo appropriately.
I got three of these from Taobao. The original MSI version can be bought if you purchase one of the MSI overclokable MOBO but too expensive.Last edited: Mar 5, 2016Sebastiao Liparizi Neto, Spartan@HIDevolution and Papusan like this. -
I had time for benching Cinebench 11.5 tests today. Prefer to pass 11.50 in Cinebench but this is a to low Cinebench 11.5 score I think so I run my 4.8 GHz profile, HaHa. Next step will be higher Cpu clock speed or faster OC ram. Maybe also break the Raid 0.
Whatever new Cinebench 11.5 score at 11.58 is also good for 4.8 GHz without OC ram
. Somebody said that raid 0 kill the processor performance, I don't think so LOL
This BGA Pussy-Crushing Beast is a BGA Killer, LOL
@Mr. Fox @Prema I love you both. Always nice to know a Oc master and worlds best bios/vbios modder. Thanks

Doesn't appear to be 4.5 ghz either. Going by that graph, you were throttling...Last edited: Mar 5, 2016Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Nice thread!
I can't keep up with all these posts...
So if any of you makes a new high-score while using Prema Mod, please also post it here in the comments (below the page), so that I don't miss any of your achievements:

I have mobile video of this Cinebench run and no throttling. Bench run 4.8 Ghz. How can I record the video? My internet is very slow.
-
Not you. You posted right before I did.
-
Nope it isnt throttling. I think you are referring to temp graph. or if you are seeing it correctly I am using stock bios so I cant turn off C states.
The clock never goes down. it keeps at x45. -
LOL, How much higher scores can I go with something better than OEM Samsung 2133 ram? Thinking along with 4.8 and 4.7Ghz in Cinebench 11.5.
And is my new Bench score any good? -
The purple line puts you under 4.5 ghz. That is the only line im talking about in the graph. And that line is suppose to be perfectly straight.
Depends on how you look at it... 4.8 ghz for .04 points increase vs 4.7 ghz for .04 points less...
Oses do make a difference when benching, but it's a give/take relationship for different parts of most benchmarks.
And yes, your new score is top ranking as far as laptops go. And in that instance, memory may not play that big of a role. Speculation of course. -
yes under 4500 but over 4480~4490.
there is no way i can make it 4500 with stock bios. and i dont think you can say it is throttling. -
@Papusan
can you please post a screen shot of fs result showing cpu clock?
Just want to see if clock keeps at straight line with mod bios. Thanks. -
yeah as I said you turned off all the c states. but I just cant. I am with stock bios.
I am using p750dm (15inch) with stock bios. I really need prema mod but cant get one
Last edited: Mar 5, 2016 -
If it is not the c states then maybe the current which is locked at 123a or near on stock bios might have influenced the clock. You know how bad stock is
I just wanted to show that delid guard could be used to lower down the temps
-
Hummm, I'm honestly thinking you're in a good light right now, but you need an unlocked bios. Also, 123A is not enough. to hold 4.5 ghz....I suspect...Maybe 125 to 127 Would hold it steady.TomJGX and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.
-
yes you are perfectly right. 123a isnt enough and neither is 118w (also locked).
I also think I can solve everything with mod bios. With the temp lowered down by delid guard, I think I can easily OC higher to 4.7 if only current and power limit could be unlocked.temp1147462323 likes this. -
Yeah. Here we go http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7796383
Ok score? Damn I have junk OEM ram
Should perhaps had minimum +200 extra in physics with better ram. Max temp was 60° degrees Celisus
But FS physics isn't heavy load, LOL
Edit: should hav +700 in FS Physics with 2400 ram If you look at this 2133 vs 2400Mhz https://biosmods.wordpress.com/2015/10/21/sky-x9/5/ Damn wrong, LOL
Who can confirm the Physics increase in Firestrike from 2133 to 2400/2800?Last edited: Mar 6, 2016godfafa_kr likes this. -
I think so, but....yes...there is always a but. It is generally the person running the more optimal system that wins.
Example If i beat you running a 4.6 ghz and your running 4.9 ghz....I sure as hell would not be bragging about my 4.9 ghz over clock. LOL. It's always best to master a clock then move up. More does not always mean better.
Memory matters more in 3dmark11, not so much firestrike
Very good score though.godfafa_kr likes this. -
Thanks buddy.
Very impressive temperature.
Nice job~!
What is the ram clock and timing that you use? Cant you oc your ram to 2666? or you want more? -
Yeah. But who can confirm Physics increase in Fs from 2133 to 2400/2800?
-
-
Could your ram just oced to 2666?
most samsung ram can be. -
Yep, his ram can be overclocked. Unlocked bios or Thaiphoon Burner or even XTU on some machines that will run xmp profiles.
-
I think waiting with it. Several experiencing stability problem with these OC'd 2400. Will buy bigger and better ram, if I am gentle with my wife. A kiss is certainly not enough, HaHa
Maybe Hyper X like other use. I don't know other ram chips brand who is better now.
I must Edit my Hardware sig, LOL -
It just needs a timing adjustment or more voltage, but most xmp's should work right out of the box.
-
On Haswell/Skylake systems user will have to use the Prema BIOS in order to be able to flash SPD/XMP profiles to their RAM with Thaiphoon Burner (stock BIOS has SPD/XMP writes blocked as per Intel guidelines).

So I know its a newbish question but how can i get around the Power limit throttling , from preventing my chip clocking to the frequency I have set. I am running at -150mv but if i try to OC the multipliers in xtu then reboot it just goes to 4.5Ghz then his thermal power limit!
Sorry new to OCing on laptops. -
Yes you are right.
I've tried Taiphoon burner but it says "your system has blocked memory SPD blah blah.."
Taiphoon doesn't work with stock bios. -
lol bro, use shadowplay from nvidia.. desktop capture.. simple..
-
Not so nice with upload at 0.20Mb and have 3 kids and wife who love Netflix, gaming and whatever they use around the clock at same time, LOL
-
If i was paying the bill, everyone would get booted off if I could not get faster service in my area.
-
This summer I have been promised +60/60 Mb. Now it barely internet works. Even 3G sucks(swap between 2G=Edge and 3G. More like 2G, LOL). Norway is world champion in helping other countries with better internet but forget their own citizens. In the midst of large cities are internet good, but 10 miles outside... There is only grief.
Remember Norway is world's richest countries... LOLTomJGX likes this. -
0.20mb upload speed, hmm thats what im using, basic ADSL broadband 20mbps download but sad 0.5mbps upload.. fibre around 40/40 or 100/100 available here, but not in my budget though.. and im the only one who uses much, apart from mom and dad who uses just for checkin amazon and some random youtube vidz.. congrats on being laptop OC guru..

hey bro, where are u from, ur location looks like some kind off hindi.. ive been spreading ur mods to my friends..

edited, you always have the best Silicon Lottery luck man! I remember your previous 4930MX CPU was one beast of an overclocker! -
You can try the easy route to see if it will stick. Certain versions of xtu work and allow for the amps to be changed, but you usually have to shut down. Then power on the laptop. This way it doesn't reset on a restart. Which can happen. I have no clue as to if this will even work, but it's what i did when i didn't have an unlocked m18X bios. And it works on the p570wm3/p570wm as well.

What I notice with this laptop if I change any setting in XTU, it doesn't change it in the BIOS, they are not linked like they were on my previous Alienware 18 -
Here at home would a lucky chip shipped from siliconlottery.com cost +$ 812 incl shipping. Good thing I don't need it. My wife would kill me, LOL
@Phoenix
You can increase the Platform power limit in Bios aka Primary Plane Power Limit in throttlestop. Same Also with Turbo Power Max and Turbo Short Power Max in Bios aka Package Power long and Short in Throttlestop.
Throttlestop Can be Useful for testing. Xtu is Bloatware.Last edited: Mar 6, 2016tgipier likes this. -
You only need it to change the amps. No need to look at the bios to see if it changes there. When the laptop comes back on you will know if it has changed. Booting to bios can also force it back to factory in some cases.
And you would need to try them all to make sure none of them work. I think the 5 series is the best bet if it were going to work.
@Papusan He needs amps....Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
