Sager has run battery tests with the 48.84Wh using the integrated video. They report 2.5 to 3 hours. They haven't run tests yet with the discrete video.
The 62.16Wh battery has not been tested yet, but you can probably expect about 15-20% more battery life with it.

So it should be able to break 3-4 hrs easily with discrete graphics on power saving modes with some mild surfing and word processing, especially with the 62Wh battery then.
-
This will be great. =D
On hibernate mode, the notebook spend an minimal energy that you can change the battery? -
When you say discrete gfx I assume you mean integrated, as that is what you want to be using on power saver...(discrete being the nvidia card)
On hibernate the laptop is completely off, just has the current state (ram) saved to hard drive for reloading when you turn back on. -
woot, delivery day, going to US to pick this puppy up, when I bring it back I will take some pics, since there's none on np7110.
-
This is so good. Thank you for clarify my mind.
And i agree with you about discrete and integrated card.
Integrated should be use when will want power save, so this need be called by discrete.
And "isolated" card (i can't found a best name to it) should be the nvidia card (gt330m), that the optimus will active when you need more graphic power.
Gratz!!!!!!! -
"Discrete" in this case means "separate" hence the 'discrete' card IS the nvidia card. This is how the term is used in the graphics card industry - I think you may be getting confused with the other meaning of discrete (ie quiet/unobtrusive)
So:
Discrete = Nvidia 330M
Integrated = Intel GMA -
Isn't it just great how its delivery day for me too.. BUT today is also my FIRST day of college (orientation) luckily it starts at 12pm but goes until 11pm... and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday i have to go from 8am - 11pm.. Sooo pretty much im going to be up until like 5am installing onto the computer and enjoying every moment of it. Still would have been nice if school started later or i got my laptop a DAY or two sooner /:
Hoping to god that the UPS guy gets here within the next half an hour.. ugh I shoulda just drove the 20 minutes to go get the laptop from the UPS store. But HEY! If he gets here within the next 30 minutes then... Ill get to enjoy about an hour of my new computer? ughhh FMLLL
-
Hmm, understand, so terms used by industry is Discrete to an OFF board card and Integrated to an ON board card.
-
Yes, that is correct.
-
One little question, the optimus button on NP5125 is to turn Optimus technlogy on/off or to switch the discrete/integrated cards?
Warm regards. -
its to turn optimus off and on, it does not switch cards
and its a good thing my school doesnt start till September 6th here in Canada
that way i should still have plenty of time to receive the laptop before i leave
-
=( I'm thinking that my order will have 2~3 days delay
-
Mine should be here friday/saturday!
I will of course take some pictures for the curious folk
-
There is no reason to wait. This machine has ran perfectly for me. It is everything I hoped for and then some.
You may not be able to use a few pieces of software right away that monitor hardware readings... It appears to work but has side effects. If the problem has been reported and the software maintainer is active than it will likely be fixed. Else, I don't think it is game breaking... I guess you can answer that do you really need to monitor your hardware at all times? I would also guess that software is taxing on the hardware.
Anyways this is exactly the thing that I had issue with the poster I was responding to. S/He is trying to blame hardware for a software issue. As far as I can tell so far this hardware is working perfectly. Never been happier with a laptop. -
Has anyone begun looking around for a ultraportable wall/auto/air adapter yet for this?
A long time ago the only option was from iGO is there anyone better now?
I had one of these DELL 65-Watt Auto-Air for Dell's but not compatible with this.
Anyone have recommendations?
*double posting to change subjects* -
for a car charger i cant comment but if your looking for extended battery life look into external batteries. theyre great.
-
Well I got My NP5125 Back from RJtech 2 weeks ago lazy to post feedback.
Got My 1920X1080 screen.
Overall I give good feed back to RJtech they handled it well answered my emails.
Got return lable the same day.
Played around with linux Mandriva 2010.1 PWP X64 and Kubuntu 10.04 X64.
I haven't played a lot with windows 7 having more fun with linux.

Optimus laptop isn't new. With those optimus laptop users out there, why I couldn't find similar report regarding incompatibility with riva tuner?
And why you are so focused about "who to blame". I never blaming any side to begin with. Problem is there (for me), it needs fixing. If it's not a problem for you, you can't force that "no problem" to anyone. -
Does anybody know whether the 62.16 WH battery has the same dimensions/weight than the 48.84 WH battery?
-
I just got my NP7110 in the mail today... But i don't see the wireless Bluetooth mouse that i ordered with it? Any ideas why it didn't arrive with the package? Any ideas would be appreciated especially from xotic pc? :/
-
Should, I don't think anyone has received or seen this battery outside of Clevo if it even exists yet.
Hmm maybe heavier? -
And anybody having a problem with the fan making a like scraping noise right under the left side of the computer? it happens whenever its lifted and then just stays making that noise for a long period of time sometimes.. I mean i honestly do not think its meant to do this.. whoever put in the components must have messed something up...
-
Yeah it comes in a separate package from XoticPC. You'll get an e-mail with a different tracking number.
I had to send the stupid mouse and USB stick back because UPS wanted $40 in brokerage and taxes for a $20 mouse. No way in hell I was going to pay a total of $60 for that nonsense. I refused the package and am expecting a refund from XoticPC.
HEADS UP TO INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: You WILL get screwed on the so-called "student discounts". I was totally sold on the free usb stick and discounted mouse; now I'm just bitter. XoticPC should tell customers beforehand if they'll be incurring ludicrous overcharges for a seemingly innocent student deal. $20 is no big deal but I'll be a happy customer once I receive my refund just based on principle.

Okay.. Really this fan is bugging me.. all i did was run the performance info and tools to rate the computer and when fan starts spinning it is just like making a grinding noise the entire time.. I will not be able to use this computer in class if it makes this noise i mean its that bad... Anyone else encountering this?
-
ouch, that would be one expensive mouse
you could get razer orochi for that price

It is shipped from another location. You are welcome to PM me your order # and I can double check and confirm back.
If you are having a problem with the fan it could be the result of something shaken out of place during transit. If you are comfortable with it you are welcome to remove the bottom panel and see if the Fan Wire is rubbing on the fan or if the fan needs to be re-seated. If we can help with anything please just ask. -
Is there any specific driver for this laptop display?
-
Hahahaha yeah, I know! I couldn't believe they wanted 2-fold more in brokerage and taxes than what the package contents were actually worth.
-
will that be the same situation when the larger capacity battery arrives? (i chose express shipping so that should cover brokerage on the battery as well since that should carry over to the battery when its shipped right?)
-
will that be the same situation when the larger capacity battery arrives? (i chose express shipping so that should cover brokerage on the battery as well since that should carry over to the battery when its shipped right?)
i dont want to get screwed over when the battery comes just because its shipped separately... and another question, since ill be paying tax on this first shipment, will i need to pay tax when the battery arrives as well? or is the tax i have to pay with the laptop not including the price of the battery which is already paid?
basically, to summarize, does the shipment with the laptop include the price for the extra battery or not? (since if the price IS included id be paying tax on it, and if its not included i wont be paying tax on it yet) cuz i dont want to have to pay the tax on that $60 twice for no reason. -
any word yet on the fHD screens? when will the new stock arrive?
-
Wow. EXTREMELY good point. Maybe Justin can address this?!?!
-
ye i hope so, cuz i definetely want to know the situation, and srry for the double post, my bad
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The battery was not included in the price (since it was not shipped or in the box) You will pay taxes on the shipment of the battery when it ships.
They are in
We have a large batch going out today.
-
ok, thats good news, and since i chose the express shipping option, when the battery ships, it will also be express right? (meaning that it will avoid the brokerage fee) and all i need to pay when it arrives is the regular tax on the $60 correct?

Update From Sager:
-
Downloading the new driver from sager right now.
Will post follow up. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Let us know your feedback
-
I guess a lot of people are downloading the driver right now.
With COX 30 Mbps down and 6 Mbps I usually download drivers
at 1.2 to 2.2 MBs per second, but this driver is downloading at
77.0 KB/s damn it taking to long. -
I have a question, I'm watching something on Netflix streaming. The nvidia card won't kick on though for some reason.
-
good point.
Let us know your feedback. [2] -
i really hope it will because i will not pay another $60 in brokerage fees for it... a $60 battery where the brokerage ends up doubling its price, i feel that would be a serious rip off and essentially a scam especially if the person chose a better shipping option for their order originally. so i really hope u are right
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
^ I thought you stated you shipped it UPS Express on the laptop? (in regards to your statement of another $60 in Brokerage Fee's) IF you shipped it UPS Express you wouldn't pay brokerage fees.
-
ye i know for the laptop i have no brokerage, my bad, i meant for the battery, if it ends up being shipped with normal ground shipping even tho i had chose express with my purchase, thats what i meant.
-
ahhh, to be canadian
we have to mess around, order from US, look at specific shipping options, pay brokerages, pay taxes, sometimes go over the border for pickup, all of this so we can buy a laptop for a decent price
Those American's don't know how good they got it, eh ?
-
yep, a decent price, and one that i can get the things i want in it
-
I finally download the new driver of sager's website the new
Forceware 259.39 X64 WHQL.
The Installation went fine no problems just extract and run setup.exe
and it will do everything by itself.
I have not tested any games yet.
Put here's a pic.
-
Thanks for the sceenshot! Could we perhaps have a game test? Maybe some video ?
-
my NP5125 should be arriving sometimes in the morning
and im off to bed
