basically every sager/clevo laptop is supposed to come with a free case, and of course, it isn't very impressive.

I just placed my order with LPC-Digital and no where does it mention a stock case. I believe I read a post from an Xotic rep that said they no longer provide a case either.

 

You definitely have a bad machine. RMA it asap!

 

I hate to have to rma but I'm going to have to I've tried everything. Very upset. They better give me 2 day shipping on the machine considering I waited since may 1 when I ordered and it shows up faulty and very unstable.

 

Yes, I did read somewhere (was a post from Xoticpc if I'm not mistaken) that Clevo/Sager stopped offering the case not long ago.

 

Is it really a difference of bying expensive 1600mhz ram rather than cheaper 1600mhz ram?

 

Ask them for an advance replacement. They likely won't give it to you, but spin it as an opportunity to get a VERY public "atta boy" on service on this forum (which is a legitimate statement). Who did you get it through?

Odd... I ordered from Xotic and I got the free case. Sounds like it was only recently they stopped.

EDIT: wow, they did stop. but now they have tribes ascend for free w/ NP9130/9150/9170, starting today.

 

It must have been VERY recent then because both of the P150EMs I've ordered from xotic included the bag. In fact, the power adapter and accessories ship in the big.

 

Yes, it's recent. A couple of weeks ago, maybe.

 

The case isn't that good in the first place anyways. It's thin and will barely protect the laptop if you drop it.

I called them and if you want it you have to reorder thus losing your place in the production line and that is more important to me then a game IMHO

Um. Tribes Ascend is a FREE game to begin with. You just download it...

And Yeah I am going to ask for an advance replacement; I hope they can build it tomorrow and ship it to me while I go ship this back to them tomorrow.

I couldn't get it to work stabily at ALL. After moore than 16 hours of messing with it trying drivers, reinstalling windows over a dozen times, dozens of system restores.

So much hassle its ridiculous.

I better get advanced replacement with 2 day shipping after this. I already have waited so long its retarded.

 

On to phase 2 for me!!!!!!!!!

i got the stage 2 update on june 14th and it shipped from sager to xoticpc on june 22nd hope that helps

hey everyone, i know someone before has had this issue, but my shipping notice is saying estimated to be here end of day friday, is there any estimation as to what that means or to just expect to have it before any certain time? Also would it be more of a chance that i get it on friday then having to wait for the entire weekend to receive this beast?

 

Huh... You know I got the free case and I got my laptop this past Monday, it shipped last Friday... i guess it was VERY recent...

 

For those who got the stock keyboard... do you have any problems with the left shift sometimes not registering? This has been happening recently for my keyboard and its ing annoying in sc2 because whenever i try to shift queue my , it doesn't register and i waste so much time trying to get my scvs to build rax. also HALf My CAPS LOcK RAGe ENDS UP LOoKING LIke THIs

 

My shift key works fine, but my Fn key seems to work whenever it feels like it wants to. This is particularly true when I try to mess with the backlit controls with the keyboard shortcuts.

 

No problems here....and thanks to you I just found out that 'sticky keys' are annoying as ____

Well, it's finally arrived. Keyboard got the local language, win 7 and the drivers will be installed in a few hours.

One thing, the headphone output on the P150EM is terrible. It's the worst I've ever heard. I may have to buy a portable DAC/Headphone amp just because of this...

 

What makes it so "terrible?" Is there a lot of background noise, is it just not very powerful?
Enlighten us.

Did you install the THX audio drivers/drivers for your headphone?

 

I have to somewhat second this opinion. The sound card is pretty bad; my ty dell laptop could produce more bass than this laptop. But I don't feel it's muffled at all, though.

 

Meh, I may buy an external amp if I have too; but the drivers that came with my Gamecom 780 through USB seem to sound fine to me so far...?

Even though I haven't gotten this thing stable enough to game much, I can game but then when I restart it crashes lol

 

i thought it sounded bad at first, but once i installed the THX audio drivers, changed the sound to 7.1, and tinkered with the EQ i have it sounding very very good for a laptop

Currently I have the default 7970m drivers installed...how do I get from these to the latest version safely? I got a blue screen simply running the install over the current drivers so I'm guessing that's not it. Will I be able to play games decently with the default drivers?

you didnt test out the default drivers before you tried to install new ones OVER them? ...

just about everybody here prefers matte screens

i would get the matte unless you are going to be only indoors with it and the lights off

 

in terms of color richness and clarity...is there a BIG difference?

 

honestly i havent these two screens side by side maybe on of the resellers on here can give you some insight
though i have only heard great things about the matte screen

 

So, about 2 hours ago I received my new np9150 and I have to say, I am extremely happy with the product. I ordered last Thursday and it got here from start to finish in exactly 1 week. I also received the case with it AND tribes ascend. No BSOD's yet at least, (tested with D3) sticking to default nvidia 675m driver on the disk it comes with to be safe until a legit one comes out from nvidia. Hope I don't have the same sticky keyboard problems like some people are having...guess i'll find out in time :O

 

Got my 7970m 150em, everything is super so far, except I can't see my gfx card in HWmonitor, and I would like to know it's temps etc. Anything wrong or just that hwmon is not updated for the card?

 

Make sure the card is activated before opening hardware monitor. This works for me, though It shows AMD temps under the intel GPU and not AMD gpu. I confirmed this with MSI afterburner which shows everything accurately...as long as you start it when the AMD gpu is activated.

 

Ah, thanks! Which version of 3dmark should I run if I want to make sure everything is working as intended?
