I didn't find any at eBay, and at Eurocom both are at around $600 or more.

I've never updated my BIOS to be honest. I had heard that if I screwed up I would brick my machine, so I left it as it was. So, my BIOS version is from 2014. Though, I guess I can ask some technician to do it. I'll download the one at Premamods. That should do nicely, right?
I also recall some V-mods or something for the graphics card. But I also never tried that.

Oh, that's beautiful. Thank you! That's a lot less expensive!
How did you look it up? I always searched "P570WM VGA replacement" at eBay and never got that!
I've heard the P570WM can handle up to the GTX 1060, is that true? If it's safer, then I'll buy the 980 right now.

    I'll PM him. Thanks!

You search by card name, not machine type.

I would go for 980M over 1060. You can even SLI them for even more performance.

Okay then, I'll be getting the 980M. Thanks!

Can you check out this one? Would it work too? It seems to be the same, the only difference is there's no shipping cost, but I'm not sure if it'll work on the P570WM as it was taken from a MSI:

Because that one is from an MSI; you have to be sure the layout is the same and that the heatsink will fit.

I would go with the one I chose. It's brand new. That one is used.

That one should fit fine though.

Do you guys remember some mods for the graphics cards that were made for the P570WM?
It was V something, but I cannot recall.

Hello, guys. Anyone know the best possible way to remove a stripped GPU screw? I tried the rubber band method, and it doesn't seem to work. It's one of those black coin screws on both sides on the metal plate that covers the GPU.

Thinking about getting a metal file. Don't want to make an incision on the actual metal plating since the coin screws are so thin.

That's the best solution if others have failed. Just be aware of metal dust and clean it with compressed air if you can.

Thanks, Meaker. Got the screw out without damaging the plate. Released both GPU pates and the paste is dry but gunky/chalky. 91% Isopropyl okay to remove this?

I need to replace my CPU fan. It's the d900v that sits over the chipset. I need it asap as this is my work computer. I'm in the U.S. and the only ones I can find on ebay are shipped out of China and are going to take 2-3 weeks. Does anyone know of a more easily accessible substitute that is a comparable 3 pin with the same screw placement? Or another source for replacement parts? I've been searching online for almost 2 hours and figured I'd ask here before biting the bullet and commiting to a multi week wait.

Thanks Sakuta. $66 for the fan and $50-$70 for shipping. That's mental, but..... I suppose I have no other options.

It is interchangeable with the P370EM/P37xSM GPU2 fan (see pic of my spare complete with p570wm part number!) so try searching for their part numbers too

That adda store on aliexpress has very reasonably priced fans. I picked up a couple spare for my P870DM3 for close to 10 bux each. Check the express shipping options - it might not be that bad

In the meantime a good lube and contact clean might bring the fan back to life, otherwise remove the bottom case, and point a desk fan at it or sit it on a cooler pad. Underclock if it still overheats [IMG]

Don't pay the Eurocom tax for spare parts, with a bit of digging you can get used spares for a lot less.

I'm in the States. I ended up finding a guy out of the UK who had a new one on Ebay. The same ADDA fan. It was a little over $20 with shipping. Should be here this week. I broke a fin off of my fan while removing the blades from the motor so I need to replace it. I have to keep working, so I have her in front of an open window with a window fan blowing in cold air from outside. It's about 0 degrees C here so the CPU is staying cool, but so are my hands. Brrrrr. I've got CPUID Hardware monitor running and keep an eye on the temps. I'm idling in the mid to low 30's on the CPU. Maxing at around 50C under load. I'm being extra careful until the new fan arrives.

I almost just went ahead and pulled the trigger on this one. Dual 880's and a 4960X. Went for $850. Such a steal. I would have if I wasn't building a new workstation in a few weeks. -

Hey guys, my X7200 seems to be giving up the ghost or on its way out.

I was thinking about replacing it with a P570WM. Is there an update to this model? I'd like something with three HDD bays and an optical drive I can remove for a total of four HDDs. This laptop X7200 and P570WM are beasts and I'd love a newer model. Assuming I can talk my wife into it.

Or at this rate, I may be better off getting a desktop... Sigh...

The p870tm technically with 2x 2.5" and 3x m.2 bays. Optical is dead though at this point like firewire. Though the extra kilo of weight saved should nab you an external drive still easy to carry.

Have you discharged the machine to make sure a pin is not being held high by a charge? Remove the CMOS battery and power the machine then pull the chord out.

I do have hyperx khx1600C9S3 32gb of them.

So i asume i could use my current ones too to mod with typhoon to 2400 ?
Could you please guide me threw the Proccess ?

You are only looking at small gains, I'd suggest targeting something easier like 1866mhz. Otherwise if you want more then you are going to need experiment.

1866 works easy inside Prema Bios Perfermence Settings for Ram.
Just changed to Manual left all Timing as they are on 1600mhz (9-9-9-27) and choose 1866 no isues. I could choose 2166 but this wont work. So i belive to go further i need to use Thaiphoon.

I've read there is a Profile needed in Thaipoon. How do i get a Profile ? What is it used for ?
Please guide me threw the Steps what i need to do.

And what if they dont work after apply ? Could i allways go to bios and go back to standard and they work again ?
I read someone have Broke their PC Bios is that Possible ? Does Thaiphoon write into Bios ?

    Thank you for your help.

I was on vacation and unable to respond until today. You need the version of Thaiphoon Burner that allows working with XMP to make any changes. The basic version (unless Vitality has changed something) does not allow changing XMP information. Although, I believe it will write the entire SPD including the XMP settings.

I still have the custom SPD from that RAM. I wasn't sure if I had deleted it or not. You can try programming it. Remove all but one stick of RAM for testing to be sure it works OK before flashing all sticks. Save your stock SPD using Thaiphoon Burner first as well. If you have any issues with this modded SPD not booting, remove that stick. Install an unmodded stick and boot from it, then install the modded stick and flash it back to stock.
Use the profile attached. It is not a stock GSKILL profile. It was custom-edited by @residualvoltage (Marc Waters) to work around some deficiency issues in the P570WM BIOS and the fact that is does not have the normal level of memory overclocking support that one would expect with the desktop CPU and X79 chipset. Brother @Prema modded everything he could, but you cannot mod what is totally missing.

Thaiphoon Burner does not making any changes to the BIOS. It only makes changes to memory modules. So, you could brick your memory, but not the mainboard. With the attached SPD flashed to the correct GSKILL memory modules you don't need to change anything else.

I haven't used this since I sold my P570WM back in 2015, so I might not remember enough to answer difficult questions, should any arise.

I'm not sure they will work. There are some hacks Intel did on the IMC making running them tricky and it's something the bios was never coded for.

Fairly expensive to try but if you need the memory capacity over 32gb then there is not much option.

Sorry for Late reply Mr. Fox,

first off all thank you for your help. I try to find the g SKILL Sodim 2133 you have modified but unfotunetly i cant find them anywhere.

Anyone who has the 2133 g SKILL Sodimm ?

It could just be the modules, not every stick is capable of overclocking well.

Hopefully i find the G Skill Rams somewhere soon.

I recently read on Tomymac86 that someone successfuly install OS X on the p570wm.

I manage to create a Boot Stick but cant get to OS X install screen. Some errors regarding USB.

Anyone sucessfully installed OSX on P570wm ?
