    Hi Mark ,

I have my P650RG running in Discrete mode, using an external monitor.

Automatic fan regulation (via the control center) does not seem to work and I have to turn the fans on to max, else they stay off and temps climb.

Do you know how I can solve this?

Did you get the latest firmware for your machine from your reseller?

I think so, I'm on Prema BIOS, 1.05.13 EVOC v1.1.

As per HIDEvolution, no further updates have been released.

Report the issue to them then as you are running custom firmware.

    hi again,
I'm dusing off this laptop again, the XMG P506(P650RE6),
I've been searching all morning for a modded bios to begin overclocking CPU and GPU. and read a lot about the @Prema bios.

    1. Is there one for P650RE6?
    2. Is it possible to get a copy?

Since XMG are no more the bios update are gone from their site and its a little bit annoying tbh

You don't need a modified bios to begin overclocking.

That is true, But I'm using it for VR and afterburner causes frame drops in VR and I cant use the overclock the to get the magic 90fps, rock and hard place.
I thought that, from reading, i could also get more of an overclock as I can further adjust voltages.

Graphics card clock adjustments will still need a program.

Ah, I was under the impression that there was a modded vBios that would have the max clocks and voltage higher for performance mod by default. Am I wrong in that assumption

    Hi,

I currently have the SSD 850 EVO M.2 and I'm planning to migrate to a 970 EVO Plus NVME drive.

Several doubts cloud my mind as this is my first time migration under this scenario:
    1. How can I migrate data from old drive to new drive? Shall I do that by connecting new drive via an adapter and using Samsung Software to move data around?
      1. If I can't migrate, shall I do a clean install then? I read significan changes between both architectures make it "not ideal" to just migrate data and then swap drives. Is this correct?
    2. I've read several posts and it seems I can only have 1, either the NVME drive or the SATA when connected via M.2 but not both, is that right?
Is there a link or video you can share to guide me through this process?

    Many Thanks!

You can just clone it, you don't have access to how the data is actually organised. Check your manual for slot information.

    Hello everyone!

I have owned a P650RG for years, and has been a faithful companion so far. Lately, the touchpad simply does not work, at all, like it is broken.

I found that odd, since I don't use it all that much, only when travelling. Then one day I tried uninstalling the Synaptics software via Windows' Device Manager menu, and guess what, it works perfectly. It just does not have any gestures or whatever, due to me removing the driver.

Then either me or Windows automatically install another driver, and it stops working. And it's this cycle, whenever I want to use the touchpad I just uninstall the driver.

Anyone else has had similar issues? I'd just like to use my laptop, as an actual laptop again lol

PS: This is where I got the Synaptics driver: https://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=P6xxRx&ltype=9&submit=+GO+

It might be faulty and not able to run the driver features. When did it start happening?

For some months now, it was just sudden. Maybe an Windows update?

It's not just features it's unable to do. It's nothing really, not even the physical buttons work.

Have you tried installing say 1803 to test that theory?

Nop, don't even know how to do that.

Could it be something related to BIOS? I remember updating it once, on a desperate attempt to fix something that my local store wasn't able to (it was a real struggle to get my laptop working like it should). I currently have these versions running:

    MB Series: P65_P67RGRERA
    BIOS Version: 1.05.18
    KBC/EC Firmware Revision : 1.05.07

There isn't a lot of information online about what is that KBC/EC firmware, so these numbers don't say a lot to me... However if that BIOS version is the cause, it's entirely my fault :(

You would grab an ISO of the version and install it with updates turned off.

I believe that I have a similar problem to benderr, in that I think my LCD cable may be needing replaced. My display will currently only "work" if I have my screen tilted at the correct angle, and simply applying a minimal amount of pressure (Like a light tap with a finger) at the location of the cable on my screen will cause my screen to go black/have color bars flash across it.

My question is, what model of LCD cable would I need to purchase to replace this one? I am running with the Sager NP 8657-S...Is there a certain model of 30 pin connector that I would need, or are all 20/30/40 basically the same and it'd be plug and play with pretty much any?

There is usually a tag on the motherboard end of the cable.

I recently have started getting insane amounts of downclocking on my NP8658-S's 980m and i'm not sure whats going on? when i check the temps it looks like its holding steady at 75C which should be way under the point of throttling. when I check my gpu clock is at 405 and memory clock is at 195 which is way lower then specs. whats going on?

405 Mhz is giving 75? Could be VRM throttling.

    Hi,
I have just upgraded my Wi-Fi AP and the new one supports Wi-FI 6.
My P650RG currently has an AC 8260 card. Can I swap in a AX210/AX200 as a drop in replacement to the system?
