Considering how tricky getting hardware can be at the moment that's not bad at all.

I was getting 5 - 6 hours battery life with this laptop which is what it's rated for but now I'm only getting 1 hour. I haven't used it much so theres no battery wear. How can I figure out the cause? I haven't got any new services running in the background as far as I know.

Check GPU usage indicator in the Nvidia control panel and your frequencies in task manager.
-
Nvidia GPU does not get used. I keep GPU indicator in my taskbar and frequency’s are very low, everything running on battery saver settings but still discharging rapidly.
Edit: I have discovered windows "system" process is causing the NVIDIA gpu to spike every 2 seconds despite nothing using the gpu. UghLast edited: Jul 16, 2021 -

There you go, if you can identify the exact EXE you can mark it to force it to the IGP in the nvidia driver menu.
-
I disabled the NVIDIA but still no increase with battery life. I need a more advanced solution to finding the cause as I'm not a noob, I've tried all the obvious things.

The three major users of battery are CPU/GPU/Screen. So something could be keeping the CPU clocked up for instance.
Is the cooling fan going for it?
Also have you checked your battery health? -
It turned out to be Obsidian Fan Control draining the battery unfortunately even with the fans spun down which is what I was using it for. I had to completely uninstall it if anyone is wondering.

If it was pinging the GPU for temperatures that could have done it.

One my minor complaints about mine is the keyboard, I don’t like how bright it is with the clear sides of the keys. I wished they’d make a keyboard with the keys all black safer for the letters/numbers/symbols.

Anyone else getting the nvidia platform controllers and framework error code 31 with the latest nvidia drivers? I cant get rid of this error, I tried windows 10 reinstall and windows 11 and nothing, still gives me an error in the device manager. I have the latest bios provided to me by sager.
-
I've seen this a couple times... I think it's an issue with the video cards firmware? I uninstalled the device and it disappeared from the device listing, and never came back with the issue.. I'm not sure if that might help? There is always DDU to forcibly remove any fragments of leftover drivers..
-
Also see if you changed power modes on the Control Center Power settings.. Also changed with FN+3 (top row, not Num pad) on some models. Going from Entertainment, or Power Saving to Performance can really mess with things like that, and can get changed easily without notice.
-
There are a number of keyboards you can get for your models, since Clevo sells worldwide. The different layouts do have differing switch matrix assignments, so you'll have to update the KBC bios accordingly. I think you can get that from the resellers, Clevo has them, but sometimes it's not easy to get them to talk to you.

When you say the keyboard is blank what country is it destined for?
-
I did fresh installs of windows and the error kept popping up.. I looked it up online and theres a long thread here about it but the fixes dont do anything for me since thats already disabled on windows 10/11 by default on a clean install:

Not sure what this feature does but it is broken and uninstalling the driver from device manager makes it go away but idk what we are losing without that there and working properly. -
Best way to keep my "NUM LOCK" on permanently? I've tried the editing the registry, no worky.
-

It's a BIOS option which is usually hidden IIRC. An unlocked one usually exposes it.
-
Do you know where I can get unlocked BIOS for my NP8752F1?

No problem man, you’re great as always.
I’m installing a couple 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus’ I bought last week when they finally went back to $250 a piece. Can’t wait to see the disk performance improvement, but I’m worried about the heat on these puppies compared to the WD Sata. Anyone install any kind of thermal pads on this model? Is there room for any heat sinks? I doubt it, but it’s worth asking. What Thermal Pads would y’all recommend?
Also, the Sager curse hits me again with the rear corners, same dang thing happened to me on my last Sager (NP9150) and now it has hit me on this one. It seem something snapped in there, so I’m having to figure out if I’ll ever need this little cap off again so I can decide if I can glue it or affix it back in a less permanent manner. Anyone else have this prob? If so, how’d you fix it?

Does it not clip back into place?
-
No, not at all.
-

You could super glue it on one side I suppose.

Hi, I received an error at 48% of Windows 11 install "igdkmd64.sys" which I read is Intel internal Graphics Driver.. I think it's outdated (I have the latest one from https://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=PCxxDxx-D<ype=9&submit=+GO+ )
Is there a fix for this or new driver version I can try?
Thanks! -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You can grab the latest IGP drivers from intel.com.
sparky_boi likes this. -
Do try the newer driver from Intel, however, I have had to forcibly tell Windows 11 to "roll back" the driver to a /Newer/ version driver that I installed, and Windows 11 installed an older version over it through update. I will have to get that driver version for you tomorrow, but I have found it has significant issues with Edge browser. (resizing the window causes the video driver to crash repeatedly..) -
Ah yes! The infamous hinge covers on the P150xx series.. They are held on by little tiny metal brackets that have a single screw into the hinge mechanics, accessed from the bottom side, when the cover is removed.. however, the weak point, is the two very tiny plastic rivets that hold the entire hinge cover to the bracket. It is possible to remove the bracket and JB-Weld/Epoxy the hinge cover back into place.. however, it will take some finagling to get the fit right, and trimming up the excess to keep from interfering with the rest of the chassis. once it's cured and shaped, it can be screwed back into place. They have a bit of a tricky diagonal movement to fit on correctly, while getting the bracket into place. I've done a few repairs on those so far, before higher ups ordered a bag of replacements for the support guys to send out.
The more recent models have been somewhat improved, but they're still not the most secure, and that sharp point downwards is a flashing neon invitation for anything to snag on and rip it off.
On that series of laptops, be attentive to your screen hinges, both in the lid, and back side of the keydeck. I've seen a couple glue failures so far (which is thankfully a quite low percentage), and when caught early, it is possible to repair them with Epoxy to a near original function, without sustaining catastrophic damage to the surrounding components. (mainly cables) I've had to 're-forge' the lid metal back into a flat surface on most of the repairs, so it does take a considerable amount of force to break the hinge adhesive loose. I'll try to remember to take pictures next time I'm at it.. I'm sure there'll be another couple systems in the future.
The picture indicates which bracket it is.. just a small grey one.Attached Files:

I’d kill for a couple extra to put on mine.

Has anybody had the display panel fall out of the frame on these?
My PC70DN2 has been nothing but misery from the start, firstly due to the display falling out to due weak adhesive or something and also the RTX 2080 now apparently failing (artifacting). -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Not something I have heard a lot of but some double sided tape should be able to fix the panel. That does suck at the GPU artifacting. Is it under warranty?
-
Yes, but clevo-computer.com @clevo-extreme are not responding to my emails.
I ordered two identical laptops at the time, the screen fell out of the frame of both, 1 laptop was already replaced and the screen fell out again.
Now mine has GPU artifacting. -

The last activity of that profile was October 2020 on here, good luck but the screen at least is pretty repairable.
