With or without button, you are able to control optimus via the driver settings...
Button or not will never be an issue i think about.
I guess your problem is more like that you still can not really imagine how this optimus switching system works.
-
Anthony@MALIBAL Company Representative
When using the dedicated graphics, it will always have to be done through optimus because the card is wired through the integrated chipset. The button on optimus models does not force the discrete GPU on, that has to be handled from the control panel where you create profiles for games/applications that need the dGPU. -
No it doesn't but it is faster than a traditional HD.
-
Yeah sorry. Hard to imagine and dont know much about computers. Anyway the guy in the forum of 6165 was able to get the problem fixed but I think my mind is made up, Gotta love this machines portability only doubts i have left is to see this thing playing games/in action! Hope we get a video from anyone here -
1. Go to an Apple store
2. Grab an 11.6" Macbook Air
3. Find a YouTube gameplay video of your favorite game you want to play
4. Play it in full screen mode
5. Voila
That's what I did and it looks great - a bit small for my taste but still good. Will probably order mine next week unless somebody stuns me with a comporable 13/14" system. -
already went to a shop to see a 11'6 and yes its just the right size! as the new ceo of apple would say "it just works(icloud)" i just want to see it run, say a game like bf3 on high and see how good it is : >.
-
I wish more companies would have the matte screen option,( anyone else?) 90% sure I'm ordering from MYTHOLOGIC but the one thing that's holding me back is that you only get the 90W PSU from them when you get the 3610 QM.
Just waiting another few days to see how this plays out. -

Just placed my order, looking forward to this little rig.
-
When will you be getting yours? what is the eta?
-

Not sure, I was told like 10-15 days (worst case) to process. Apparently this is a very popular model. -
I tried to send emails to all these resellers about warranty info, but none of them want to get back to me. If one of these re-sellers go belly up do I have a warranty with sager? Does anyone know what chipset the Sager internal wireless uses?
-
Thats pretty much what i want, on the fence about the 750GB Seagate Momentus XT and probably add on the IC Diamond Thermal Compound.
Where did you order it from? I want to see how it plays Diablo 3 and Tera. -

I thought I should post this, some guy in Australia got one and is doing a review of it, check it out. Horize W110ER Review - Overclockers Australia Forums

Anyone know if this laptop uses SATA III? If it just uses SATA II then buying a high-speed SSD is a bit of a waste.
-
What is better the intel n 130 or the sager internal wireless?
-
Here's the spec sheet on the display, for anybody interested.
Contrast seems pretty good (500:1) for a notebook, much better than the ~250:1 of the M11x. Color gamut and max brightness are kinda low though (45%/200nits respectively), but I almost never use my current 300 nit display at max brightness so I doubt the latter will be a deal breaker.
For reference, the 11.6 inch MBA has a max brightness of ~400 nits and a contrast of ~600:1 and the same 45% color gamut. -
was it cheaper buying from reflex vs one of the american resellers?
-

Was about the same. -
sorry..i forgot to mention im in canada as well
no border costs, extra taxes ,etc? -
Megacharge Custom User Title
No, I just paid GST and QST. (which was a PITA - around $150
) If you order from outside Quebec, you would just pay GST.
-
Pretty much any laptop in this price range made 2011 and on will have SATA III -
Yes if they are Sager re-sellers from Sager such as xoticpc or lpcdigital. You can know by checking if they have the option to remove the Sager branding. Also, check their FAQ, I read about the Sager warranty somehwere in there.
Otherwise, if you buy from Mythlogic or Prostar, I don't think you will have Sager warranty. -
Right. Sager notebooks are warranted by Sager, regardless of which reseller you buy from.
Clevo builders like Mythlogic as noted have to warranty their own machines.
Note that Malibal is actually built by Sager and warranted by Sager too I believe. -
Order in and now the waiting game begins...this is the hardest part.

What is your ETA? -
Yep, waiting game. Hoping to get some build date or shipping status soon on mine too.
-
About 2 weeks, hopefully less.
Mythologic were the only ones with the matte screen option which I absolutely needed to have. Hope you guys get your systems in sooner, I want to see what this sucker can really do. Congrats to all that have the guts to be early adopters and be the first ones to take the plunge, I was going to wait for some early reviews but the temptation was too much to handle
I have a feeling this is going to be one of my better laptop purhases of all time, I hope so anyway.
Does anyone have a confirmed delivery date?
Crylo do you have a ETA? -
What is your order status? Mine is still open
Larry said Sager announced that the building time for this laptop can be 7-9 business days. Hopefully I can get it before May 20
-
Mythlogic: Burn-In and Test... Already?! I can deduce I'll have it in less than 10 days now.. Please? Too excited

Yeah, I was going to wait for some reviews too, but I just had to have this thing ASAP, besides, I sort of need it atm, I really wanted the matte screen badly, but Mythlogic was out of my price range, and so was the screen. My ETA is about 10 to 15 biz-days. -
Yeah, he gave me the same information. I sent a personal check too, so I assume it will be around 3 days before my order gets placed, then another 7-9 days before shipping. Hopefully it comes in around the time Diablo 3 goes live.
-
I don't have ETA yet either. Hoping that since I got in as soon as announced that I will be up front somewhere.
-
I hope so too!
Your reviews are always top notch, your DV6z and various other AMD benchmarks are always very well done.
Even better than some of the official reviewers on NBR. -
Aww shucks!
I always keep planning on starting a blog or site, I'm just too lazy to do so. -
SSD vs Hard Drives: A Beginner's Guide to SSD Upgrades
If you scroll down a bit, you're right, but it's maybe 5 seconds longer. This review's really good actually for people considering the Seagate XT -
Why the matte screen? I'm actually jumping back and forth on that myself, I'm tempted to go with glossy, but I'm worried about the glare a lot. How did you pick?
-
Personally I'm just getting a matte screen protector. Installed properly it is as good as a matte screen almost.
-
how does it look though? i dunno, there's just something about a clean screen, without anything on it. and those damn air bubbles are always so hard to get off
-
Im terrible at installing these. Even on phones, if I somehow manage to line it up correctly I somehow get dust caught in between.
-
Hate glossy screen's
Have a matte screen on my other laptop and love it (see sig) I know i'd be kicking myself if I didn't get it on this one. Mythologic says the matte screen colors and brightness are great on it.
Is it worth it? thats up to you but to me it is.
Replacing the screen yourself is doable, could I do it myself, probably, after searching for the right screen, hoping it fits, trying not to break something ....blah,blah,blah you get the idea. I rather have the pros do it, they have it in stock and are surely much better at replacing screens than I am. + it's under warranty.
-
Just got an email from LPC and it said they sent my order to the factory, so I assume if the 7-9 business day estimation is near correct, I might get it before D3 releases.
-
Not to say it would be a good idea for you to do it yourself, or anything, but Mythlogic is being very transparent about what they're giving you. There is no guesswork left to be done to see if a screen fits. Look for the AUO B116XW03 V.1 screen to see what they're selling you. Seeing as that's the lowest price I've found, $20 for installation seems totally reasonable.
-
A-ha! I did a whole write up on it at one point using tips from several users here at NBR. It sounds crazy but it works.
- start a hot shower (don't take a shower, lol just start it) and close bathroom door to steam the room up, it will eliminate dust
- use vinyl or latex gloves
- put a *few drops* (don't squirt a bunch) of dish soap in a clean bowl, tupperware, bucket or whatever and fill with warm water. Peel both sides off the protector noting which side has adhesive and put it adhesive side down into the lightly soapy water. You can submerge the whole protector if you want. The adhesive is silicon so water won't remove its adhesive properties, and it will still dry.
- Take your laptop and bucket of water with protector into the steamy bathroom and clean screen with microfiber cloth and remove any dust
- Remove the protector from the wtaer, just make sure protector drip dries a little bit. Put it on the LCD with the LCD FLAT DOWN and you can freely move, slide, protector around. *Lightly* smooth out bubbles with a credit card. Let it dry for an hour or so and don't worry about the air bubbles yet.
- After an hour or so use a credit card to start to more aggressively smooth out bubbles. You probably won't get rid of all of them. Just be patient.
- After 2-3 days the bubbles will start to disappear completely. Every day perhaps try to massage them out with a credit card. They *will* eventually go away.
This has worked on at least a half dozen laptops I've done. Note about making sure the protector drip dries a little bit before putting it on. On one netbook I did this to, water wicked behind the LCD because I just grabbed from the bucket straight on the LCD. It left some tell-tale streaks on the LCD. Fortunately after about a week, the water in the LCD dried out and all was back to normal. In any case, there is a little bit of risk, but *don't panic* give it time and it will likely correct itself.
All that said do it at your own risk. It takes a little effort, but once you do it it's really hard to tell it's a protector, it looks like a matte screen. Costs < $25 compared to the premium of $100-$150 for an actual matte screen. -
I also purchased this baby today from Reflex Notebooks and was told that it could take 5-15 business days to process and build, plus shipping. With the Ivy Bridge release, the volume of orders has been overwhelming (as I was told on the phone when confirming my order and as I'm sure most people here can attest to), so I'm going to expect the worst case scenario of last week of May. If it comes earlier, I'll be very pleasantly surprised.
-
Yeah. I'm expecting a couple weeks before first orders start to even ship. But hopefully we're pleasantly surprised too.
It's an exciting little notebook that's for certain. I may even entertain replacing the 3610QM with a dual core Ivy later if thermals prove a challenge with this laptop. -
That's the only thing I'm moderately worried about. The 3610qm with IC Diamond still gets up over 90C, and that's pretty much out of the box. Shouldn't be too hard to find someone who would want to trade an i7 for a top-tier i5 at my college. The i7 can't be helping battery life either...
-
mysn.de does offer the W110er now. Its the A102.
And they as Ivy option they use i7-3612qm. -
Thanks! I found one of those on ebay but I couldn't figure out how or where one would attach it.
Here's just a sum up of interesting links in the past ten pages basically.
-
Thanks R3d, been looking for that. My GoogleFu wasn't working.
It's similar to the screen that was in my HP DM1, and it wasn't too bad. Worse part though is the viewing angles:
Horizontal: 45-45
Vertical: 15-35 (up/down) -
Mythlogic has said the matte display has better viewing angles. I wonder if we can find a similar spec link for that display.
