EDIT: YES! i finally get to be the first post on a page!

does anyone with the Razer Orochi know:
-if i put rechargeable batteries in it, will it charge them if i plug in (ie:wired mode)? -
That review has me worried. The WEI only lists the 485m at a 5.7 in gaming graphics. I get almost that NOW with my 8600gt and yet the benchmarks are 6x higher with the new card. HTWingnut ran his and got a 7.5, so I wonder what's up with this review unit. -
From what I've read, the WEI isn't consistent across all systems.. It's probably change if that reviewer ran it again
-
If you're concerned about WEI, mine has 7.5 with GTX 485m. But that is worrisome that their system shows WEI of 5.7.
-
What about the gaming benches posted, are they inline with your scores?
-
It seems to be running about 10% slower in the few comparable benches I ran. Not sure of the discrepency. I do have the i7-2720QM but not sure if that would matter much.
-
you could always just edit your score lol
thay can be what ever you want em to be -
The Razer Orochi does not have the capability to recharge batteries itself so that is a no. The wired mode is just a way to preserve battery and to have the mouse working at full speed which it doesn't when its not wired.
-
thanks
10char -
That is indeed worrisome. I got a 6.1 with a 3 year old 9600m GT, which is essentially the reason I'm upgrading (and for SB). However, I last ran WEI 8/10 and my gaming graphics got a 4.9. I ran it a few minutes ago and gaming got the aforementioned 6.1. :confused2:
-
My 460m w/o OC gets 7.1.
Is there any way to turn the LED indicator lights off?
Everytime I open a website or watch youtube ( stream anything online )
The light blinks madly and it's really getting on my nerves.. -
could that be due to the scores being based on battery and the gpu downclocking?
-
That WEI screenshot is probably running off of Windows' automatically installed drivers and the Nvidia reference drivers hadn't been installed or properly configured yet. Not that WEI really means anything at all.
I'm hoping there's an answer for turning off those lights other than covering them up with something, because I've heard nearly everyone that's received their notebook complaining about them. Those types of things bother me to no end as well. -
Sounds like you may need to add some electrical tape over it. Sucks, but dunno what else to do.
-
What lights are you talking about? The ones on the laptop near the speaker grille or something?
-
I believe he might be referring to these:
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oIilugN1qrw?fs=1&hl=en_US&start=219></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oIilugN1qrw?fs=1&hl=en_US&start=219" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='480' height="390"></embed></object>Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
only thing i can think of is electrical tape..
or maybe like giving a lite once-over with a sharpie to give it that kinda "smoked out" effect to tone them down a bit? idk if that'd work, but if it doesn't, it should just wipe off with some alcohol..? -
Oh, now i see about the lights.
Coming from a HP with those blue led lights everywhere on my laptop, this is like a godsend. -
Mine gets 7.5 aswell so he could have faulty drivers or something.

Here is the review of our Lotus P150HM from Tom's Hardware. Some people were asking about it.
MALIBAL's Lotus P150HM: GeForce GTX 485M Gets Its Game On : Bigger Bang In A Smaller Package? -
I likey! And the sexy logo beneath the screen panel
!
More than enough to justify today's laptop power and technology. -
Thats one of the main reasons I chose MALIBAL. The logo looks soooo nice lol.
-
I'm more impressed with the fact that the 6970m is nearly identical to the 485m in almost every game and benchmark. Any word on pricing or availability on it yet? It seems everyone is benchmarking it, yet it's not actually been released or rumored to be released in any platform.
-
I would love to pop the 6970m in here....
-
I'm also wondering when will we see anyone offering the 6970m in this model?
-
The 6970m in the Lotus P150HM is still a couple months away.
-
Lame about the 6970m.. Guess I'll be sticking with the 485
Anyone use a coolermaster Notepal U3 notebook cooler? -
That is going to be nice!
Sounds like an easy fix...
I'm waiting to see some results with the SB chips and this. I have been totally sucked in to this stuff by y'all!
-
I ended up going with the other suggestion of the Cooler Master SF-19. Newegg had the non-usb 3.0 version for $64 shipped. I figured I probably wouldn't even use the 2x 3.0 ports I get on the chassis anyway.
The reviews on the Notepal seem to lead me to think that it tends to conk out early. The fans are also smaller and spin slower than the SF-19. Granted, the SF-19 only works on AC power I think (mine won't be here until tomorrow). For a notebook like this, I'm going for extra power. -
Personally, since I don't currently have a notebook cooler, I probably won't get one until I get my new lappie, and decide whether I really need the cooler (or any other accessories) or not.
-
I just went ahead based on what the other owners said. I already have one for my xps m1530 and it works pretty well for keeping the fans clear when using the laptop on the couch or the bed. My old cooler was just a cheapie Microsoft one I got when I moved to Seattle. It's just not very efficient with a single tiny 80mm fan. The built in usb hub is another big plus in the new cooler. I always tend to run out of usb ports anyway.
Ended up buying a Swiss Gear Ibex bag, the SF-19 cooler, an Asus external bluray drive, 128gb Kingston SSD, and a 200w power inverter for my car all well before the laptop
(I'll just use them with my current laptop till then)
-
Coolers. Do they actually cool the air or do they just provide ram air to the lappy?
-
Dang...That's a lot of $$ to put down at once
I think I will stick with my trusty Crumpler backpack for now. You know, I did consider getting an external ODD, and then getting an SSD for primary, with a regular HDD in the caddy. But, I don't think I can justify dropping any more money for an SSD at the moment. -
that's an intense looking cooler lol. i'm just concerned about it creating too much of an angle when the laptop's on it. i dont want too much of an angle from the cooler since the laptop will already have it's own angle from it's design.. also, it'd be nice to have a cooler that will draws air from the sides vs the bottom so it can be used on the bed or lap or wherever.. saw the NotePal Infinite that draws air from the rear of the cooler. just wondering if this will cause it to draw the warm air being exhausted from the rear of the laptop?
that's the same bag i've been looking at! how much did you pay for yours? -
i dont think it "cools" the air, i think it just provides cool-ER air in larger quantities..
-
In regards to the SF-19, I believe I was the one who made that suggestion. Angle isn't too steep, if any of you own a G19 or G15 logitech keyboards, you coudl say the angle the laptop is at would be the same when you use the stands under the keyboard. A little bit less probably.
As I have said before the thing cools the laptop very well. Previous load temps in furmark went up to 83-84c, now they barley break 71-72c on the gpu. Thats with fans of the SF-19 on full and the laptop fans on auto (IE no FN+1). -
newegg has the sf-19 with the USB 3.0 for 60.99 after MIR
-
I consider anything that prolongs the life of such expensive hardware by keeping the overall chassis and components nice and cool, a worthwhile investment.
-
And I agree wholeheartedly. However, I much prefer waiting till I have the machine before deciding what I feel are the right accessories for it.
That's not saying that Epsilon (or anyone else) was wrong in getting their cooler, etc, now. As long as they feel they made the right choices, and are happy with their purchases, I think that is all that matters.
-
true that.. i'll probably wait for the cooler too, just trying to get some ideas. same thing with the backpack, i'll wait till closer to my arrival date for that. if i order it now, i'll get it in two days from amazon, then i'll just have to look at it every day lol.. it'll get depressing knowing i have the stuff, just not the laptop
-
The laptop was a lot of money to put down at once. But I got $3400 back in taxes, so I went to town
. I already save $600, or roughly half my weekly paycheck to pay for my car, and use the rest for bills. I figure it was worth a treat finally.
I got mine on newegg for $64.99 with free shipping. My old ScanSmart Swiss Gear bag just needed replaced.
My bad! I knew to give credit to someone here, but I couldn't remember how far back I saw that post.
CRAP. When I ordered the non-usb 3.0 version, that one didn't have a rebate. I paid $65 shipped for mine. And the 3.0 version was sitting at $80 + $10 shipping. Oh well, I still probably wouldn't have needed those ports anyway. -
Well if you don't have a use for it now, then yeah, there's no point. But I have an m1530 and a work Lenovo Thinkpad w510 that I carry with me everyday. Trust me, I'll be using all of it before I even get my Sager
-
Wow!
How did you get such good download speeds? That's awesome! -
Corporate VPN
. I'm interning at Cisco. (Notice the distance thing, it apparently thinks our corporate proxy hits the internet somewhere near Seoul, South Korea) My college is at least double that though, I just don't have the saved speedtest anywhere. They've got twin OC3 lines with gigabit internet run into every dorm and apartment. I'm fairly certain I got 88 down/26 up usually. I miss that internet.
Also, my main question for this laptop... can it play Minecraft?
-
Oh is that wired network? I thought it was wireless!!
-
Well, it could be the wireless. But at work we still have ancient b/g access points and they're limited to 48mbps. There's no reason you couldn't get speeds that good over a good wireless N router though. My DIR-655 got those 80/25 speeds at college over wireless. (until they banned having your own wireless networks and set up the school wireless routers to DDoS any non-whitelist ones)
-
hi im new here i just want to know if i can order the dvd, hard drive, and the Caddy Case together from lpc-digital.com?
-
Seeing as how you probably don't have PM yet, you can contact babyhemi/Larry at [email protected]. He's LPC's rep on here
