Thanks for the tip!I hope the components are not that tedious to remove, I'm gonna re-paste it tomorrow. Gonna ask for help again if something happens.

Should be pretty easy to remove them.
Follow the application instructions here http://www.innovationcooling.com/application.html -
Has anyone else noticed a rare screen artifact / horizontal black on the middle / lower part of the screen since Windows 10?
It only flashes for like 1 second or less, really fast.
It can happen on either desktop or ingame.
I'm hoping it's Intel or Nvidia driver related. -
Hi Guys,
Re-pasted GPU and CPU with IC diamond, Wow the results are fantastic. I'm now stuck at 45-50 Idle CPU and 43 GPU and 80-86 CPU using prime95 for 2 hours on load GPU is at at around 56-60 ish using furmark. The fan is not yet even 100% Removing the heatsinks was easy. Used the "line" application on the CPU and "Pea" Application on the GPU. Thanks for the tips guys
One question though. Was installing another stick of RAM earlier and I didnt find the RAM Slots 1 and 2 Where is it?. Slots 3 and 4 can be seen instantly.
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
great to hear that your temps went down after repasting.
You're other two slots of ram are going to be hidden beneath the keyboard. You'll have to remove the keyboard, and then you can access them from there. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I'm glad it worked well for you
The modules are usually put under the keyboard so if you want to add more you don't have to get to the more difficult slots.

Huzzah! Received my laptop yesterday. I am blown away by the quality of the machine. I'm coming from a 9370 and the all metal body is sleek and super sturdy! One thing I seemed to have overlooked is the keyboard, I though it had colors, but apparently it's only white. It's not a big deal but I just overlooked that bit of detail. It is solid as hell though.
I'm still setting up the laptop and getting the appropriate drivers. I can't find the fingerprint drivers for 8.1, the 9370 had a nice "secured deposit box" software and i can't seem to find that for the 8672s. I also don't understand why they'd send drivers on a CD with a laptop that doesn't have a cd player lol.
I had Guild Wars 2 up and a running on max @ 30-40 fps in town and for some reason it's only pushing the gpu to 52% utilization. is that normal? Is this the weird optimus issues? -
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
The drivers are going to be available on Sager's site and Clevo's site as well. The fingerprint reader usually you have to get through Clevo's site though. I suppose having a CD with drivers is better than having nothing? You could always use an external drive, or maybe use another computer to move them to a USB drive.
For the frames per second, are you on battery or on the power adapter when getting that? Might make a bit of sense if it is on the battery and using optimus. I would also check in the Nvidia control panel, on the Manage 3D settings tab, and then the programs settings, to make sure your computer is running off of the Nvidia graphics and not the Intel HD graphics. Otherwise, just change up the settings in game. Sometimes GeForce experience makes it's recommended settings and it isn't always the best way to go.Riktar likes this. -

Congrats on the getting the new computer. The NP9370 you had was also a great quality machine so you saying you're blown away from this one is saying a ton.
We've started seeing a switch from CD's to Flash drive from some manufacturers. Not sure if Clevo/Sager plan that anytime soon but I would expect it eventually. In the mean time you can always download them directly from Sager's site if you need them.Riktar likes this. -
Oh yeah, i've gotten the majority of them (BT / Wifi / Nvidia) etc but the fingerprint i was unable to find.
I was plugged to the wall the entire time. Would you recommend using the latest nvidia graphic or the one provided by sager/clevo? because i'm still on the one provided by sager. -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Been hearing some issues with the latest ones directly from Nvidia. You could try them and see if you have the same issues. It could be a combination of those and W10. If you install them and they're stable then you'll be good to go. However there haven't been any major updates with them so sticking with the Sager provided ones wont hurt ya either. -
I ordered NP8671s from XOTIC PC. After that I find Sager products list doesn't contain this model. And the ETA is not available on the XOTIC PC page. So I am a little confused. Anybody can explain this?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I can see the NP8671 just fine, the -s is a configuration special offer.
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
The NP8671 and S model were just phased out by Sager today. If you have an order placed they may have one available for your order still. If not they will tell us probably on Monday. If that is the case one of our reps will be in touch about it not being available anymore. -
So if it's the worst case. Any solution available?I mean I've already paid the money and been eager to obtain it as soon as possible.
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
How long ago did you place the order. If it was before today then chances are good that there will be one for your order.
If they did not have one for your order we would do a full refund of if you wanted another model like the NP8672 (or any other) we could apply the funds you already paid to the new order. That will be up to you but we'd be good with either. -
Thanks for your reply, I placed the order AUG 17, and today its status turn into phase 1 .Last edited: Aug 21, 2015

And another question, my order configuration is stock so it is still delivered to XOTIC PC or directly delivered to me from sager?
-
anyone know where i can get the fingerprint reader driver/suite for the 8672S. I was unable to find any on sager website and nothing is available regarding the fingerprint reader driver.
-
Try the XMG P505 fingerprint driver.

i installed it, its still not doing anything.. does it come with it's own suite? i remember the np9370 came with authentec features
-
So i've been able to locate the egistec es603 driver along with their software (bioexcess). I've been able to set it up to where it locks with a swipe however i cannot unlock it with a swipe. it appears to be a windows 8.1 issue as i don't even see a finegrprint option under pc settings. I did the whole command prompt + gpedit.msc and enabled biometric but still no option. I've installed all the windows updates... i'm kind of at a loss now.
Also does anyone know what the bios key is? it was f2 but ever since i installed windows 8.1 in uefi and secureboot enabled i can't access bios. It boots fast as hell though lol.
overall, the system is kicking major ass, i just have a few kinks here and there... -
You can get to bios from Windows at least, it's under pc settings somewhere.
I installed 8.1 Pro to my P651SE with default bios settings and i'm getting an error from Windows that there is something wrong with my secureboot settings and i don't seem to figure it out... -
okay, i just tried to reboot and kept f2 pressed vs tapping it. Sounds silly but it seemed to work and i was able to replicate it. Now... i need to figure out this dang fingerprint issue. the 9370 authentec software is much more straightforward and polished than whatever the egistec is using.
anyone have input on the fingerprint? -
Does anyone know where I can get the latest bios for the 8672s/670sg.

I also want to know. Fan is very loud most of the time. Windows 10 everything runs OK. Fingerprint scanner never had a way of using it yet at all its as if its not real

Funny enough that fingerprint reader was a huge pro when i made the decision to go with the 8672

Alright! I managed to get the fingerprint reader up and running. It locks and unlocks now! this is the driver and suite (bioexcess). Make sure you uninstall driver in the device manager, reboot, install it and then reboot one last time. Now the only the bios remains!

If you have any customizations on your order that Sager doesn't do in house (Xotic PC services on the customization page), then it will come to us. Or if you live in California, then by default it would be sent to us, then back to you. If you don't have any XPC services or live in any other state, it will ship to you directly.
Glad to hear you got the fingerprint reader working. Normally, those drivers are going to be on Clevo's support page as well. For the BIOS, generally you would want to reach out to your reseller for that. Since you got it from us, email [email protected] and include model and serial number, and they can get you the BIOS. -
the sager 8672 drivers on clevo's site are non-existent when you sort for the particular model. That or i'm not doing something right.
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
On Clevos site you have to use the Clevo model number which is P670SG. -
Oh that's what I meant. The only driver I see under p670sg is the sbx-fi.

You're right, I didn't click that far. You can get them from sager http://www.sagernotebook.com/drivers.php?cat=604
Looks like they are all there. -
It clearly states to check P65xSE for the other drivers. They use the same motherboard (design) in both the 650 and 670 models and thus have the same drivers. No sense hosting them twice on the site.Last edited: Aug 24, 2015Prema likes this.

Yeah, i got the bulk of them from there, but i was unable to find the fingerprint driver on there.
Yeah, that makes sense. I was worried when even under p65XSG it only shows the sound blaster drivers. I see now it only displays all of them under 650SE. thanksLast edited: Aug 24, 2015 -
How come Sager has W10 drivers for the P670SG on their site but Clevo does not? Is Clevo lacking in driver support on their site as well or are the drivers unofficial and Sagers own brew/find?
-
Clevo hasn't pushed anything W10 upstream, yet, as they are constantly fixing bugs...
-
I compared the sources a little bit (a lot actually) and this is what I found:
Differences:
Sager has a Control Center Utility for W10, Clevo does not.
Sagers VGA drivers (both) are newer for W10, older for W8.1
Sagers Audio driver is newer for W10
Sagers Airplane mode driver is newer for W10
Sagers Fingerprint driver is missing for W8.1 and W10
Sagers Chipset driver is newer for W10
Sagers Cardreader driver is newer for W10
Sagers Hotkey utility is older for W8.1, missing for W10
Sager has no Integrated LAN driver for W10.
Sagers Intel ME driver is newer for W10
Sagers Intel Rapid Start driver is missing for W10
Sagers Intel Rapid Storage driver is newer for W10, older for W8.1
Sagers Touchpad driver is newer for W10 but older for W8.1
Sagers Wlan driver is newer for W10 but older for W8.1
Sagers Soundblaster utility is newer for W10
The BT driver is a little difficult to compare due to greatly differing version numbers.
Clevo's file version does not match their own description version, 17.1.1440.02 vs 17.1.518.988.
If the file version is correct then Sagers is newer for W10 but again older for W8.1
So I guess we'll be mixing and matching from several sources to get a full set.Last edited: Aug 24, 2015 -

Often times Sager only updates drivers if there are problems with the current one i.e the Intel VGA drivers. But it won't hurt to install updated ones if you find them. -
Im getting ready to throw a PCIE m.2 card in my SG, there seem to be some 3.0 cards such as the samsung SM951, will these work, and thus any pcie3.0 m.2 cards?
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Yes, the SM951 would work in there.
-
Hey XOTICPC guys, could you give some information about my order? I placed order on Aug 17 and now this model is no more available on your website. You said someone will be in touch however 3 business days are gone still get nothing about my order. Just tell me whether there is remaining NP8671-S reserved for my order.
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Can you PM Hutsady or myself with your order number, so we can check in to it? Either one of us can absolutely check in to that for you. -
So I was finally able to get down to gaming on on the 8672S. After maybe 2 hours of running FFXIV on max (desktop) the gpu temps stabilized at about 86-88 deg. Is that normal? the laptop comes with IC thermal paste and is on a cooler masters notepal u3.
thanks -
jeanjackstyle Notebook Evangelist
That's a bit on the high side... What is the ambient temperature (roughly)?
-
Temp is controlled at 73
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
If those are your max temps they are average gpu temps for this model. I would be OK with mid-upper 80's.
-
i was worried because i was comparing them with hutsaddy's review of the 8652 on FFXIV max temps and he was at 74 or so.
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
If you want to try to drop the temps a little you can raise the back about an inch to get better air flow. You can also reapply the thermal compound to see if you can shave a few C off (even though you already got ICD). But since your temps are not in any dangerous level's I would hold off on that for now. -
I want to say that my temps were in the mid-upper 70s as well with the 8652 playing FFXIV. I can check later tonight.
