I posted a posting on a different thread but I decided to create a-self thread because I noticed that thread is getting fairly large and hoping that this thread might help others with the same issue.

I love the laptop and works great, however, there is one downside and the computer, especially the upper left portion of the keyboard, gets hot on heavy gaming. I haven't got high temperatures on CPUID overall for the graphics card (Highest I got so far is 73.0) and CPU (65.00 highest so far) but...I wouldn't mind having a cooling unit to help with the temperature plus getting the heat away from the keyboard....for me it's around ESC to F4, TILDA to 3/4, TAB to R, CAPS to F area that gets hotter than other areas of the keyboard....and well, WASD is used a lot so....

Can anyone recommend a cooling unit that works well and even fits well with the SAMSUNG SERIES 7 gamer ( NP700G7C-S01US). Also, is it USB powered or direct? If USB, does it have pass through with enough power to at least charge a cellphone?

    thanks!

I want to bring this up again cause I'm still looking for a unit that may be able to help me. Laptop does get hot when playing games.

Interesting thing, using HWMonitor, my GPU temps get higher than yours Monitored during Metro 2033 gameplay session. It's interesting that your GPU stays around 11°C cooler than mine. GPU topped out around 84°C during the Metro 2033 session. When I alt-tabbed out it was around 77-76 I think, probably just fluctuation based on GPU load, which isn't constant.

But, that said, I don't notice that area of the keyboard getting THAT hot, it gets a little warm but it's not a big deal. I expect that. I always have it sitting on my lap on top of a cushioned lap desk.
