According to this page Samsung is offering a 2 Year FastGuard™ Warranty extension on selected notebooks purchased between 15th Feb and 31st March 2008 for just 1 pound. This applies to models NP-P500-RA02UK, NP-P500-RA03UK, NP-P400-RA01UK, NP-P200F000UK. Samsung are offering a 2 Year FastGuard™ Warranty extension on selected notebooks purchased between 15th Feb and 31st March 2008 for just 1 pound!

I can't find any further details on the Samsung website. There could be little surprises like a £10 admin and delivery charge but this offer should still be attractive. If Samsung have sufficient confidence in their products to offer very low cost warranty extensions (I recall that a 3 year warranty was part of the Tesco R60 package) then they should consider making the longer warranties standard. However, the longer warranty excludes the battery which seems to be the component most likely to need replacing.
